I certainly was, when I was a catholic. Two things that REALLY embarrassed me were holy water 💦, number one. My Protestant friends would say, holy water, are you kidding me? Can you drink it? What will it do, clean out your insides?
The other, was confessing my sins to a priest. My sin meter, that kept track of my mortal sins, spun at warp speed, since I committed about 3 mortal sins a second, but since I was honest, I told the priest my racy sins. Sometimes, I thought that some of these priests, were getting their jollies listening to my sins, so I stopped embarrassing myself to them. My Protestant friends said they hoped I didn’t tell the priest all my sins, cuz he was probably worse than I was, and who did he tell HIS sins to?
So, yes. I was embarrassed to be a catholic, but what I hated the most, was I didn’t have a clue where I was going to spend eternity, 🔥 so I figured why not just eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you die. 😂
So, if I wander a little, and get too close to the Tiber, just beat me severely about the head and shoulders, just to get my attention, so I don’t start swimming in it. 😇
