Why would Protestants want Catholic Communion? Boring sermon over at the Lutheran church?
So, the Krauts are pioneering the concept of ‘Catholic by marriage’ (no pesky conversion process necessary!). The cynical side of me says that this is all about expanding the base for Deutschland’s notorious church tax. “Act now! Automatic membership for spouses!” And maybe, just maybe non-Catholic spouse starts showing up with family on Easter or Christmas and, more importantly, ticking the Katholische box on his/her tax return.
Fake news. The Pope, in fact, rejected the German Bishops plan
I attended a Catholic funeral recently. It was extremely awkward when the Catholics lined up to take communion and the Protestants in attendance were excluded. Seemed strange to me.
How can he be “fine” with it?
I know Protestants who aren’t fine with it because
they don’t believe in the Real Presence (and are
very honest about that fact).
I don’t think so,
