I think the USA in high 60-70% positive belief. But, most religious people in the USA are shallow and cultural.
Yes, w4e probably have 10% of our young people actually trying to live within a framework of morality outlined by a religion - but 70% claiming they are “religious”. When you see the rates for co-habitation and out-of-wedlock births, it is clear that religion is playing little role in this country anymore.
Some looking through rose-colored lenses will point out that the divorce rate is falling, but coupled with the drop in marriages it has a different meaning - many don’t get married at all now (no need for divorce). A recent news story here in NJ talked about the places with the most single adults - in a dating context - then proceeded to list the ghettoes where people haven’t been marrying for half a century. Talk about spin...
