Almighty God, the Creator of every thing in heaven and earth, the darkness of the night has gone away, and the light of day has come at your command.
Thou art so good, so very good, and you do good things for us continually. We thank you for taking such good care of us -- and that we are alive and well.
Keep us, O Lord, from doing anything wrong, sinful, or evil. Let us love and serve Thee in this world and in heaven to come. And may we do so for the glory of Jesus Christ thy Son.
Please give to us every good thing that we need for our bodies and our souls. Help us, O Lord, by your Holy Spirit to do your will.
Make us always afraid to offend Thee. Instead, let us live and die in your favour.
Hear the prayers of a child, O Lord, and pardon all our sins, because Thy beloved son died once on earth for all mankind, for us sinful creatures, though he never sinned himself; and now he lives in heaven to pray for us and save us.
Let his name be praised for ever and ever.
Amen.
Totally meaningless to kids that txt with their thumbs and don’t read English, let alone comprehend THIS kind of language rythymn
Like Shakespeare, like Math, like Reading, it’s a learning process, and we don’t just quit teaching because it’s hard.
So very beautiful... Amen
Thank you for saying so. Isaac Watts wrote many wonderful hymns and some outstanding prayers. I’ve been looking for a model prayer which I could use as a template and foundation. Something which would be a reverent alternative to the Santa-type wishlist which is the fashion today.
That’s a beautiful prayer. I think I’ll use it myself and also pass it on.
Thank you.
It’s kind of you to say so.
Well said.
This is a useful prayer for every Christian upon waking, not just children.
Copied and saved for daily use.
Thanks for taking time to post it.
That is splendid; thank you.
This is beautiful. Thanks for posting it.
‘Pod
Amen.
We are all "a child", regardless of age. That's how Jesus sees us.
Very nice.
A perfect prayer
shared it with some brothers this morning...
Beautiful
