Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Meditating Upon The Names and Attributes of God
"Elohim Kedoshim - Holy God"
(Old Testament)
Joshua 24:19
19 Joshua said to the people, You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.
(End of Scripture Passage)
"Elohim Kadoshim - Holy God"
Although Joshua clearly gives the People a Choice to Serve the LORD, he also alludes to the idea that it is Impossible for the Children of Israel to serve a HOLY GOD under their own power and will. He seems to know that they WILL stray to other gods, as they are surrounded by them in the new land, and it is the easiest path.
Because God is HOLY, He deserves Our Undivided Love and Adoration.
And That is where the Grace and Mercy of The Lord comes in!
We pray for the Repentance, Restoration, and Renewal of Our Beloved Nation.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Our Lord and Heavenly Father
You Alone Are Holy and Sanctified beyond Comprehension.
Like the People of Israel in Ancient Times,
We Are Given a Choice
A Decision that Will Alter Our Lives Forever
Choosing to Serve You is Not Always Easy,
But it Is Always the RIGHT Decision to Make.
The World and its idols are so tempting,
And it always seems easier to 'go with the flow",
But in the end, that choice leads to death.
Give Us Courage and A Right Spirit Within,
That We Serve You Out Of Love,
Because You First loved Us!
May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Christian Bookstores are full of items bearing the second part of Joshua's exhortation to the People of Israel.
"As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD."
It is certainly a wonderful Scripture, a bold statement of Faith and Purpose, and a great reminder to all who believe. (I personally have painted, wood-burned, carved, leather worked, etched, quilted, and cross-stitched this verse many times!) People quote this verse a lot, and I am sure that you already knew it!
But, this verse, much like Romans 8:28, is often memorized in an out-of-context, truncated form. Here is the example of Romans 8:28, and you will see what I mean:
"Arts & Crafts" Version:
And we know that all things work together for good..."
And now, here's the whole thing:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The difference is self-evident!
Now, here is the "Arts & Crafts" Version of Today's Scripture:
"As For me And My House, We Shall Serve The LORD."
And, Here it is in Context:
14 Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
16 Then the people answered, Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods! 17 It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. 18 And the Lord drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God.
19 Joshua said to the people, You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. 20 If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.
21 But the people said to Joshua, No! We will serve the Lord.
Joshua is addressing the People as they are about to go into the Promised Land. Joshua is the same man who, forty years earlier, had encouraged the People to enter the Promised Land, even though there were some fierce inhabitants already living there. The People responded to his encouragement by rebelling, cowering, and disobeying God! The response was Forty more YEARS of wandering. (It was NOT because Moses didn't have GPS!)
Joshua had inherited a rebellious, obstinate, fearful crowd from Moses, and now he had to bring them into the land of Promise, knowing full well that they would stray to other gods soon after their victorious arrival. Whatever their CHOICE (Choose this day Whom you will serve), Joshua declared that He and his house would serve The One True God.

Lord, my Father in Heaven, I humbly plead for the deliverance of Israel from the constant attacks by the minions of Satan. I pray that those with hate in their heart for the Jews, will be filled with Your Spirit and come to You on their knees for forgiveness, and instead of hate, their heart will be filled with love for.
Lord I pray that Your Spirit will go over the land of Israel, and that myriads of Jews will realize that YOU are Their God, and Your Son Jesus Christ is their Savior, the Messiah that David wrote about in his Psalms, the One their prophets of old foretold would come and free them from the bondage of sin we were all born into. In Jesus name I pray Lord, Amen

Amen.
Please, Sir, give revelation of this scripture to the Israelites: Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Sons name, if you know? (Proverbs 30:4 AMP)
