Bergolio has already sanctioned Holy Communion for “some” who are in adulterous unions.

I firmly believe he’ll have no problem extending his “francismercy” to those in homosexual unions.

Exactly right. The end effect will be to nullify the sacrament of matrimony.

Gay couples will be one more kind of irregular union subject to the personal discernment process.

Anyone who can’t see this coming hasn’t been paying attention.

If you accept Vatican 2,

you think your church is alive.

If you reject Vatican 2,

you admit your church is dead.

...

Seek only the Truth of Christ in His Word,

His Word is the only God-breathed Truth for your soul.

If “anything goes” becomes sanctioned by the church, there is no more need for the church. Don’t they realize that?

The relationship between Catholics and Orthodoxy is more complicated than that. But I do agree that in the long term, the net result of changes in Rome will prompt some latin rite Catholics to go to the eastern Catholic churches or to “swim the Bosphorus.”

Sorry, but I’m not buying what you are selling.

I believe in the Apostolic Tradition, which has much deeper roots in both history and the Bilble, than does the heretical notion of sola scriptura.

You don’t understand Catholic theology thus your wrong assumptions. Church cannot be dead because this is church of the Christ... People of the church and even pope in this case might be wrong. Thus every Catholic needs to stick to traditional teachings of the church (Christ ).

# 19 ~ independentmind wrote: Or that the seat of Peter is vacant. I know it seems to be a contradiction, but I consider myself to be a sedevacantist papist - I feel that I somehow owe allegiance to the Chair of Peter, but not to Bergoglio... I believe he will try his hardest to queerify the Church (regardless of the inevitable backlash) but I cannot predict if he will succeed. Ultimately it is in God's hands.

If this fake Pope sanctions gay marriage, it will be my last day as a church going Catholic. I will shred my collection envelopes and hand deliver the scraps to the Bishop in my Diocese.

Sorry.

I asked the Mods to remove my two posts at #23 and 24.

I didn’t notice the “Caucus” label at the top.

Better search for a traditional parish, perhaps from now on. Make him sad rather than happy. We have to predict our opponent’s next move.

Benedict's good health and longevity points to Almighty God directing that he outlive Bergoglio.

Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures or by evident reason-for I can believe neither pope nor councils alone, as it is clear that they have erred repeatedly and contradicted themselves-I consider myself convicted by the testimony of Holy Scripture, which is my basis; my conscience is captive to the Word of God. Thus I cannot and will not recant, because acting against one's conscience is neither safe nor sound. God help me. Amen.

Martin Luther was correct 500 years ago and he'd still be correct today. This is in no way a criticism of Catholics as I have many wonderful family members who attend the Catholic church but if this happens, I will hope they see the fallacy in what they're being taught and leave. God bless all believers.

Which Church? Any church that did that would thereby cease to be the Catholic Church, if it ever had been.
