Parish Priest Breaks the Silence, Shares that He is Gay

'I am weary with holding it in'

For years now, I have been carrying a heavy burden, a secret cloaked in silence that the leaders of my church have not wanted me to share publicly. Each time I had a great desire to speak out I was challenged by other priests and leaders.

"Shhhh … be quiet."

"Keep it to yourself."

"Don't say a word to anyone."

"If you don't keep quiet, you will be thrown out of here."

"If you make it known publicly, it will hurt your ministry."

Then I recall the personal struggles of the prophet Jeremiah who desperately wanted to keep the Word of God to himself because it provoked such a negative response from those who heard his preaching. No matter how much he did not want to speak in the name of the Lord anymore, he could not hold it in. "There is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot" (Jeremiah 20:9). Jeremiah understands the anguish of preaching; however, keeping silent and not speaking the truth comes with an even greater cost. What a trap!

Today, I break the silence and emerge free from the shackles of shame placed upon me at a young age. There is so much to speak about, to repair and to heal — much beyond the limits of these words in print.

I am gay.

Driven to silence, hiding, being straight

Since my days in high school seminary in the 1980s, I was taught that homosexuality was something disordered, unspeakable and something to be punished. Friends with "particular friendships" were immediately removed from the school due to "family problems." During my senior year, a friar led an inquisition seeking to identify......

If has attraction to men and talks about it, he does not belong in the priesthood.

***but if you really were born that way, and can’t help it***

There is no homosexual gene. Let me repeat myself. There is no homosexual gene.

If there were, by simple mathematics, there would be no or very, very few gays remaining.

Think about it. Before the in vitro age, gays would only pass on their gay genes via heterosexual intercourse. So if they only desired their same sex, they wouldn’t have any progeny. So fewer and fewer “born that way” gays would be around. If gays were “born that way”, we would be seeing “gayness” less frequently, not more.

Being gay is a choice, even if it is a choice borne of abuse.

.....”What an abomination to compare his homosexual desire to the prophet Jeremiah’s burning desire to give out the word of God”.....

Well you have to expect that delusional and twisted thinking from homosexuals.....God does not contend with them or force His truth on them.... Instead, as Paul wrote...that God gave them up to uncleanness. and vile passions. He gave them over to ‘a debased mind’. ......It is as if God gives them exactly what they seek, and they do not realize that it is a curse as they’ve deluded themselves.

I debated once with a gay who prays every day for satan...go figure that!

But he became one before fully realizing that he was gay.

That's not true.

With support from the director of spiritual formation at the seminary as well as my own spiritual director, both of whom assured me everything was going to be OK, I moved forward with ordination to the priesthood and with my ministry in the church.

It’s common where ever homos have access to kids. The raping of young boys wasn’t a noted issue in Christain European history until after nations started getting rid of the death penalty for sodmony during the enlightenment. Soon after sodimites started running boys boarding schools and the issue became wide spread. Churches started having issues when leftists started infiltrating Semiaries in the 1800s.

There is no homosexual gene.

It's not about having a "homosexual gene".

It's a birth defect. Sorta like a goat with it's entrails born on the outside or Jo-Jo the dog faced boy.

So yes, a large percentage of the homo race is born that way. I put the numbers like this, with a plus five margin of error.

Birth defect homos (nature): 70%

Manufactured homos (nurture): 30%

The numbers have greatly changed in recent years due to an effective advertising campaign conducted by the catamite community. I used to put the percentages at 90/10.

Proof it.

Prove it’s a birth defect.

Twenty years from now, he’ll be in the news again, only in the police blotter.

There is no credible scientific evidence to substantiate your claim.

I keep telling you the RCC has a problem....but you'll probably try to have this post deleted as well.

You and the RCC cannot handle the truth.

Everyone has some kinds of temptations, bar none. So the right thing to do is curb them, not give in to them, not harbor or coddle and nurture them; what to speak of glorify, serve, willingly give in to them and be proud of them!

So any priest especially who apparently proudly announces he is sexually attracted to other men is not acting as he should even as a moral human trying to serve God, what to speak of someone in the priesthood.

Sounds as though this is the root of the problem right there. The so-called enlightenment ultimately gave us Freud, Marx and Darwin.

I apologize in advance for not doing an audit of things you have posted or commented upon that have to do with the Catholic Church. You do know that the National Catholic Register is not actually “Catholic” but anti-Catholic in a cultural Marxist sort of a way (as opposed to a Branford Clark sort of a way)?

Of course their is. My dad got me a chemistry set for my birthday and I got a really neat lab. Seriously though. The evidence of my eyes will do. Take the hermafrodyke. Would you call that a birth defect? Being born with the sexual organs of both sexes? Homosexuals, both male and female are degrees of birth defect. How you can't agree with that baffles me.

Prove it’s a birth defect.

Eezy peezy.

God, or nature if you will, intended for all species to reproduce. The mechanism that is provided in the human species is two sexes given the urge to physically copulate with each other.

If either half of the equation is born without that urge, then by definition, they have a birth defect.

Also, the study of lesbians can be helpful in understanding this. Natural lesbians have a tendency to have easily identified male characteristics. Deep voice, manly hips, etc. The male homosexual often has a high pitched voice.

This holds true for natural homosexuals. There, of course, is a percentage of them that are homosexual by choice and were not born that way. I put the numbers at about 70/30 in favor of natural homosexuals. Up from proably 90/10 in recent years. They have a very good recruitment program lately.
