In July 1980, Bryan Melvin drank cholera-tainted water and died.

He was transported to Hell where he saw many people being tormented for their sins, including someone he identified as Hitler.

I’ve practiced that and had one of those. It scared the crap out of me. I think my reaction has kept me from going there again.

I guess I am wrapped too tightly.

I understand your point.

But it makes me wonder: If the sinner’s soul is sent to Hell to keep them from being in God’s presence, why not just destroy them?

Or is the soul “un-destroyable?”

I am not intentionally trying to be difficult, but why wouldn’t God just toss them in the garbage and be done with them.

Over the years I have read just about all of the scientific research on NDE’s and have discussed it with the authors, except Ian Stevenson who had died so I discussed it with his assistant and peers.

I’ve discussed the topic with Raymond Moody, Gary Schwartz, Jim Tucker, Bruce Greyson and many more.

I’ve discussed the personal NDE experiences with Eban Alexander, Dr Mary Neal, Anita Morjani, PMH Atwater and many other experiencers.

The only reason I have not written a book is that the public exposure and limelight is poison to the wonderful spiritual connection with God I have continued to experience ever since my own death.

“Since scientific materialism and Christianity both have to revise fundamental tenets to accommodate NDEs as real, neither has embraced research into them with enthusiasm.”

First, allow me to say that Christianity, consciousness, spirituality is all material. Just not to the limited perceptions of most people.

The human soul and the stored memories of life experiences since conception...are all physical to my perceptions.

I feel sin in a person’s soul just as you would feel a tree in your path when walking.

Where the worm does not die and fire not quenched...

Eternal Hell or it ain’t Hell.

Thanks but not going to rabbit-trail about Biblical basics such as immortality of the soul.

Sad story! Jesus gives us free will to choose Him or reject Him and the offer, when made, is always fair.

If the sinner’s soul is sent to Hell to keep them from being in God’s presence, why not just destroy them?

Here are my thoughts--YMMV:

When God made us, He created us in His image--our soul is that image. Destroying that soul would be destroying a part of God. That's one reason.

A second reason is that God has respect for as as persons--not merely a tool to worship Him. Destroying any soul that does not want to be with Him is reducing our souls--our selves--down to the functionality of a tool. That is, "If it don't work, get rid of it." There's no respect there. The existence of Hell proves (to me) that God respects us for who we are--not just what we provide to Him.

If your soul is fire, then fire does not harm you.

That is the end result of soul cleansing and spiritual growth.

To a soul that has not grown, they fear the fire will kill them and the fear tortures them.

I have watched people run from the room in torture when all I did was say a silent prayer for them and they didn’t even know I said it.

This is the reason God is Light.

The reason the tares in the wheat will be burned in the end times.

That the three guys in the OT survived when thrown in the furnace.

God appeared as the burning bush.

This stuff is all real and experiential if you grow spiritually.

We are having global warming and the sinners are afraid of it as it is caused by the increased presence of the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God.

Take a look at the behavior of the global warming proponents and you understand why they fear God.

Global warming is the sinners perception of approaching hell.

We have free will until God allows us pain and suffering to teach us the right choices.

When you truly die, your ego no longer holds up the wall that blocks you from seeing and experiencing God.

Then God’s perfect Love casts out all fear and you follow the Light to Heaven .

EGO = Edging God Out... as when we are full of ourselves we have no room for God.

“Second reason is that God has respect for as as persons—”

It’s not respect, it’s LOVE for us.

Incidentally, most people misinterprete the “fear God” phrase in the Bible. It is a mistranslation as it is not fear as we know it, but reverence or ideation or hold in awe.

Why would God want us to fear him when the first commandment is to LOVE HIM?

Further, God’s LOVE casts out fear so as long as we hold onto fear we try to hide from Him. Demons fear God. We are to Love Him as He Loves us.

“I guess I am wrapped too tightly”

You just judge yourself and feel un deserving of God’s Love. He loves you unconditionally.

Ask God for forgiveness and the slate can be wiped clean and the barrier removed.

I have worked with soldiers who have killed many people. The self moral judgement is very high. Forgiveness is available.

God appears to pick His biggest screw ups for His most important work.

Moses murdered an Egyptian. Paul as Saul killed and persecuted Christians. Peter denied Jesus 3 times and cut off the slave’s ear....

There is much hope for us.

Like the Apostle Paul wrote: I am the watchman warning you about what is to come and to believe on Yeshua. I’ve warned you and therefor your blood is not on my hands. (kinda a loose translation there.)
