"Catholic" School Introduces Gender Neutral Uniforms

Edit: this is from the blog "Listening in the Desert", where the allegedly Catholic Diocesan school in the United Kingdom has introduced a gender-neutral uniform.
St Anthony’s Catholic primary school in Southwark Diocese UK announced yesterday that it will be introducing a “Gender Neutral” school uniform from September 2017.
In its weekly newsletter via the school’s website, Head teacher Mrs. Jane Day says:
“I am pleased to announce that the Governors have approved the introduction of a gender neutral uniform which will be introduced in September. Rather than having a separate uniform for girls and boys, one uniform list will be produced and girls and boys can choose whether they wear skirts, pinafores, shorts or trousers. There is no change to the uniform which will remain grey, green, yellow and white.”
Her announcement has left parents stunned and upset as it goes completely against the teachings of the Catholic Church, and they say they were not consulted or informed whatsoever of the changes to the uniform.
The site has contact information for the school leaders and the Archdiocese of Southwark under Archbishop Peter Smith  archbishop@rcsouthwark.co.uk.

Like the rest of England, the British Catholic Church will eventually fall under the weight of self imposed PC crap and licking the shoes of muslim animals.

I think these parents had better keep an eye on this head teacher. She’s probably perving on the kids. Better yet, they should take the kids out of that school.

When mini-skirts came in, around 1966, there was a running battle between girls and the nuns. At most Catholic high schools, the test was: Does the skirt touch the floor when the girl is kneeling?

Skirts no longer go up and down each decade, dictated by a few designers. They have settled well above the knee for girls and young women—or women who look like Melania. There was never any decision from the Pope on the matter.

An above-the-knee skirt does not touch the floor when kneeling. I know this. I have dresses that hit the floor when kneeling (on the floor), and others that drape about because they’re ankle-length. I do not wear above-the-knee skirts.

Drop Melania and the Pope, any Pope. If there is an explanation for Catholic school uniforms featuring above-the-knee skirts, I would be interested in hearing it. If there is not, Cebu.

The universal church selects a universal uniform.

I said the rule was that a skirt must touch the floor when the girl was kneeling. I thought it was clear I was talking about the 1960’s.

I never said that an above-the-knee skirt touches the floor when kneeling. That’s the POINT. It doesn’t.

You seem to be DETERMINED to discover a nefarious Catholic conspiracy to expose knees. If I’m not prepared to admit that this wicked conspiracy exists, you don’t want to hear from me again, correct?

In Viet Nam, school uniforms are modeled on the old Catholic school uniforms , white shirt and dark blue trousers for boys and girls. Vietnamese women traditionally have worn pants, not skirts for a couple of centuries. Before then men and women wore robe things and some sarongs . The women’s clothing did tend to be more decorative. it is a shame that women are more and more dressing in western outfits that are made for westerners and look less than good on Vietnamese frames. The ao dai is still the most alluring costume for a slim long haired young lady that has been devised while almost entirely covering her from neck to ankles.

Sad to say, with the boys now wearing dresses it will be a lot more convenient and quicker for the priests, bishops, cardinals and popes to get to the ‘goods’ of the young boys...

Up to you. I’m really just seeking an explanation of a present-day phenomenon, as opposed to things in the 1960s. It seems like something any school principal could fix: “Yo, girls: skirts mid-calf, or pants.”

It’s a local decidion.

My point is: Just because something happens at a Catholic school does not mean that “the Catholic Church” has anything whatsoever to do with it.

Noted. I will make a point of referring to Catholic schools separately.
