Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Isaiah

Isaiah 64

1 [a]Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
    that the mountains would tremble before you!
2 As when fire sets twigs ablaze
    and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name known to your enemies
    and cause the nations to quake before you!
3 For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
    you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
    no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
    who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right,
    who remember your ways.
But when we continued to sin against them,
    you were angry.
    How then can we be saved?
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
    and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
    and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
7 No one calls on your name
    or strives to lay hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us
    and have given us over to[b] our sins.

8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
    We are the clay, you are the potter;
    we are all the work of your hand.
9 Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord;
    do not remember our sins forever.
Oh, look on us, we pray,
    for we are all your people.
10 Your sacred cities have become a wasteland;
    even Zion is a wasteland, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 Our holy and glorious temple, where our ancestors praised you,
    has been burned with fire,
    and all that we treasured lies in ruins.
12 After all this, Lord, will you hold yourself back?
    Will you keep silent and punish us beyond measure?

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name over all the earth!
How Wonderful, How Holy and How Perfect!
You Are So Magnificent in Your Glory,
And So Overwhelming in Your Righteousness and Justice!
And yet, Your mercies Are New Every Morning,
And As Each Day Dawns,
Your Love and Compassion is Just as Overwhelming to my soul.

Abba Father, We Thank You For This Awesome Message to Your Prophet Isaiah.
How difficult it must have been for him to carry the burden of Prophecy for Your People,
During a time of Captivity and Coming Redemption,
Political Upheaval and Shifting Empires,
At a Time when it seemed all hope was lost!

According to Your Will and Promise, LORD,
We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
That Your Will be Done,
That Your Plan For Your Holy City Be Accomplished Swiftly,
And That All Of Your Beloved Are Ready For You,
As A Bride for her Bridegroom!

Abba Father, How we long for that Day,
When You will remove From Your Holy Place
ANYTHING that does not Honor You,
and You ALONE.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
and For Our beloved USA.
For it is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
But By Your Spirit that the enemy will be overcome

We Pray For the Leaders of Our own Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Isaiah interrupts his thundering Prophecy to sing a glorious song of Praise to His Creator! While some of his Book reads as poetic verse, contrasting the future of the righteous vs. the wicked, some of it as a fore-telling of the Messiah, and some of it as narrative about the social, political, and economic situations of the day, this chapter is a prayer.

The verses:

Oh LORD, You are Our Father; we are the clay and You are the Potter...

bears a striking resemblance to the familiar

"Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name, Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven..."

The opening verse:

1.Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains would tremble before you!
2 As when fire sets twigs ablaze
and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name known to your enemies
and cause the nations to quake before you!

means the same thing as:

"Thy Kingdom come",

and who can dispute that

9 Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord;
do not remember our sins forever.
Oh, look on us, we pray,
for we are all your people.

means the same thing as Forgive us our trespasses (debts)? (Of course, the Lord's Prayer adds "As we forgive those who trespass against us (debtors), adding a whole new dimension to the petition.

This part:

4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right,
who remember your ways.

Sings God's Praises , and this part:

But when we continued to sin against them,
you were angry.
How then can we be saved?
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
7 No one calls on your name
or strives to lay hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us
and have given us over to our sins.

reads like Romans 3:23!

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of the glory of God;

Personally, it is my conviction that not only was the whole Scroll of Isaiah written by the same author, but that the whole Bible was inspired by the Same Author, the Ruach Ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit.
