Fisher, Thomas More, and John the Baptist were, all three of them, martyrs for the Sanctity of Marriage, since John the Baptist opposed Herod’s marriage with Herodias, and Fisher and More defended King Henry VIII’s marriage with Queen Catherine and opposed his disgraceful divorce.

Consider how Henry’s obstinate sin led to the killing of so many good men, a century of warfare and the splitting of Christendom. Horrible consequences for one man’s lust and pride.
