This subject has been my hobby for the past 10 years or so.
A few things the “left behind” folks need to realize.

#1 There will be plenty of “Pastors” and “Church Leaders” left behind trying to explain the phenomenon of what happened. Don’t listen to them, they were’t taken for a reason and in reality have NO CLUE.

#2 There will be a man who appears after this happens that will seem to have all the answers to every problem and issue imaginable. He will be a liberal Utopia’s dream come-true. Don’t listen or follow him. You’ve been warned!

#3 There’s a strong delusion associated with this man described in #2. It’s all a sham, no matter how “real” his magic, words, or powers may seem to be. Don’t fall for it. Refer to 2 Thes 2:10-12 and Mat 24:24.

#4 Get ready to live the most horrible existence imaginable short of eternity in hell. That is, if you truly wish to be saved by Christ. You will more than likely be killed, murdered, or in hiding as a fugitive because you chose to reject the religious & political system of the beast.

#5 Know that if you do take the Mark of the Beast (RFID chip or implant that identifies you as a follower of the man with all the answers) that while you might live for awhile, your soul is damned for eternity. Revelation 14:11

That’s really depressing to read.
Isn’t the whole point of being a Christian is to be with the God you claim to worship?

The Church of Laodicea is huge beyond belief.

I suspect they will speculate for a while and then set up a commission or committee to investigate it and promise an answer at some indeterminate date in the future and hope everyone forgets about it.

And they probably will as the horrors of the Tribulation come crashing down on them.

The Church of Sardis is considered more representative of those in Reformed Theology. Laodecea is more applicable to today’s Charismatic/Mega-Church phenomenoh.

Paul was a bit angered at the preterits in Thessalonia who were undermining the Rapture as well.

2 Thes 2 1Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us

The irony of that group which the Bible in Revelation describes as “no man could count” (Revelation 7:9) will be that they will accept Christ after the Rapture.

With the malignant forces of world rulers rejoicing that “bigoted” Christians are gone, this second group that all of a sudden appears post-rapture (believing the Truth after the fact) will most definitely be dealt with int the harshest extremes by the authorities in charge in a holocaust never before seen.

Imagine their disgust that they finally got rid of all the intolerant conservative Christians in the world, and then these post-trib believers begin to be vocal about what happened? It’s going to be the devil’s fury on them.

Catholics, Presbys, Lutherans & Reformed opted out & bought into Replacement theology a long time ago).

Since the beginning of the Church. Rapture wasn't a "thing" till the 1800's.

Don't you think that the Lord descending from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, followed by the dead rising from their graves, will be a bigger news item than living Christians being "snatched up"?

Paul is describing the Second Coming on the Last Day, and is assuring his readers that they will in no way be "left out" or "left behind" if that should occur while they are still alive. That's all. No "secret rapture" needed or taught.

Bear with me please and consider the Lord’s judgement when he wiped out the Earth, but saved Noah and his family.

Consider Lot and his family, and how the Lord had to “remove” them before he could destroy Sodom & Gomorrah.

Jesus refers to these two exact events while describing the time of his coming (in the clouds for His Church). He always removes His people before Judgement.

Refer to Matthew 24:37-39 & Luke 17:28-30. You make some excellent points about persecution. We have that in this life. But there is a huge difference between worldy persecution and God’s Judgement, which the last 7 years of this age is. God cannot allow His Church to suffer Judgement with an unbelieving world.

The Church has the most marvelous destiny of any group of humanity to ever exist.

There were early church fathers who believed it, not a recent thing.

There’s dogma that we must avoid. I’m an avid believer in the Rapture, but you are correct that it has zero impact on salvation.

I imagine there will be many millions pleasantly surprised when the glorious event happens. There of course might be others trying to hold onto the world for dear life while the Lord snatches them.

Revelations Chapter 1 tells us quite clearly that when the trumpet sounds and Christ returns, there will be no mistaking what is happening to those who are left behind.

No Government will have to explain it and any "explanation" they offer up will come directly from Satan himself.

I don't plan on being here, Thank You Jesus!

Can you give us a citation?

I can give you a long list of things the early church fathers believed which you almost certainly reject. What makes the "rapture" thing special?

Irenaeus, for one.

From "Against Heresies:"

“Those nations however, who did not of themselves raise up their eyes unto heaven, nor returned thanks to their Maker, nor wished to behold the light of truth, but who were like blind mice concealed in the depths of ignorance, the word justly reckons “as waste water from a sink, and as the turning-weight of a balance — in fact, as nothing;” so far useful and serviceable to the just, as stubble conduces towards the growth of the wheat, and its straw, by means of combustion, serves for working gold. And therefore, when in the end the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this, it is said, “There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be." For this is the last contest of the righteous, in which, when they overcome they are crowned with incorruption.”

Do you need more?

>> being a Christian means confessing that one is a sinner, totally surrendering ones life to God, and fully believing that Christ’s resurrection paid in full for our sins.<<

You are confusing sanctification/discipleship with salvation and distorting simple faith.
(1) Confessing that one is a sinner — to how many others, in what specificity? Any juicy details? Did the Ethiopian eunuch do this before Phillip baptized him?
Also, on that list, you didn’t include baptism — maybe??? That’s what the Church of Christ teaches.
(2) “Totally surrendered” to God. That’s pretty tough for an unbeliever to muster, very difficult to work up to. (What if the Lord wants me to leave home and preach to the Inuits and I don’t want to?) You’ve got to give that convert lots of kudos if he gets there. He’s got BIG bragging rights in heaven.
(3) Believing in the resurrection as being propitious? I thought it was the death of Christ. The resurrection is actually God’s affirmation of the work of Christ — NOT US!!!!

Try this: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
