Well, speaking from a non-religious view, I find arguing on the Internet counterproductive. Why?

Because the Internet is where stupid people gather to argue.

No self-discipline, no appeals to reason, or to facts. Just stupid, irritable people gathering like cattle to a watering hole.

That is my explanation and I'm sticking to it. But don't ask me for evidence...
