I’ll bet Father Guido Sarducci would have a good suggestion to deal with this issue. Like maybe Big Pope, Little Pope.

How about secular pope and real pope?

Why should one more made up title bother a Catholic?

When he retired, Pope Benedict didn't want to be called "Pope"-Anything. He did not choose the title "Pope-Emeritus".
I was shocked when I read that he was so weakened and discouraged at that time, he could not even prevail on the question of what he was to be called.
There are evil, manipulative forces loose which are sowing deliberate confusion.

Why not just go by his given name? I just call my pastor brother ____ or his first name.

Gratuitous swipe noted. Thanks, brother

I’m not a fan of the title, either. They’re trying to honor him but no Pope who resigned the office was ever called “Pope Emeritus”

Or better yet, do what Catholic popes are supposed to do...not resign.
Just another move made by a Modernist to change the Church.

Why not just go by his given name? I just call my pastor brother ____ or his first name. Did you read the article? It isn't about what his brother Georg or anyone else in his family should call him. It's about what the rest of the world should call him.

Why should one more made up title bother a Catholic? Does the title "President" bother you? It's made up, too.

Well when a priest retires, he gets the title of “emertus”. So what is the big deal being made about Pope Benedict and this one title?
Please let me know if the spelling to mean retired is correct or not. Thank-you and God Bless.

This is why I am for making Catholic threads “caucus” threads, to mean for other Catholics only.

Good thing Paul didn't invoke the caucus thread protection when he was spreading the Gospel.

Well the Protestants have their own threads and are left alone. It is time for the Catholics to do the same. The caucus threads work and it makes the job of the RM much more easy.
And why bring St. Paul in all this?
