You refer not to the Celtic Christians who evangelized Ireland.
You refer to the Romanized, syncretic paganism that took it over.
Name one Christian order that has not disavowed this notion. It is non stop cultural Marxism from the pulpit.
This is not the only reason for religious decline in the West, but it sure is not helping.
I’ll be 69 in a few months, I’ve been AG since 14. Never in all my years have I seen such nonsense as goes on in churches today, even the AG. I’ve sat under great pastors, and some ho-hum ones, but never such PC ones to afraid of losing that 501C3. Pay your property taxes and Preach the Word as it is written. Including REVELATIONS! I’m sick and tired of Peace, Love and GIVE, there is more than that, where is the Holy Spirit, End Times? Did you not read those parts of the Bible MR. PC preacher? I have several read His Word from cover to cover several times over in my nearly 69 yrs. And didn’t have the advantage of a seminary education, and I understand it better than you do Mr. PC Preacher.
The Keltic Christian who evangelized Ireland was a blue-face British slave named Padraig, Patricius in Latin, stolen there as a slave, escaped back to Keltic Britain, called back by the people in a dream.
Catholics are Christians too.
Strange that this article and graphics skip the Catholic denomination.
See Posts #2 and #3 above.
If it could put it simply - the more Liberals adopt Leftist political views and the more those views dominate the political elite and infiltrate a denomination’s theology, distinguishing the denomination as an arm of that political elite, the denomination enters and continues decline.
It is more than mere political philosophy though.
“The keys to the kingdoms of the earth” is a universal phrase - passing through all eras of time, that represents secular power & government.
In His confrontation with Satan, Satan offered Yeshua “the keys to all the kingdoms of the world”. Christ replied that they were not part of His kingdom. One only has to read and believe the Book of Revelation to understand that fact does not change throughout human history, until He, Himself, brings His kingdom to earth.
I noticed they were not able, or did not, add Independent Baptists to their list.
Kind of like the home school numbers, the Independent Baptists do not share their numbers with anybody, so the actual number of home schooled children in America is probably a lot larger than assumed.
I would argue the same for church membership is the same, a lot larger than anyone gives it credit for.
Hear, hear!
Yes, I know the details.
It’s of no small significance that the pro-birth control and pro-abortion denominations are declining.
Revelation 18
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
As for the others? who knows.
Matthew 22
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
