“I don’t really know what the Eastern Orthodoxen say that the elements of the Remembrance Supper are, or what the ordained partaking of them represents.”

If you’re that ignorant about Eastern Orthodoxy than you probably should be posting in a thread about someone joining an Eastern Orthodox Church.

Enjoy Easter - when we celebrate the spiritual manifested through the physical.

I made the choice decades ago. That’s why I’m not a Protestant.

The key word in this is "justified," which means "judicially declared 'not guilty'."

The relief the publican sought was "God, be propitious(=placated) toward me."

Thanks for the hint. I'll keep that in mind. Actually, I am not ignorant about it, just untutored.

On the other hand, I don't know why you asked me that question. Is it that you, too, are unlearned, or are you handing out final open-book test questions?

>>>>Enjoy Easter - when we celebrate the spiritual manifested through the physical.<<<<

Huh? The physical returned back to where He was before --- before he had been born (thus had no "body" to speak of) which leads one to suspect He has no body now-- not one just as it was when He did become born into the form of a man. That much we can all be fairly certain about.

Enjoy being cursed for your own intransigence, and do not expect God to bless you, this season. You richly deserve to be made example of. Or, go back, and apologize. Leave your gift at the altar, and go make things right. At the very least acknowledge the one who had apologized to you (when that person did not owe you apology) and had forgiven you, also.

I provided a link in the last reply. Last chance, amigo.

>>>>On the other hand, I don't know why you asked me that question.<<<<

As you may know, there is a fairly broad range of material and opinion available on the subject from among Orthodox Church sources. By nature, no single one can claim overweening authority, and by relatively consistent and strong tradition among those sources much 'close detail' as it were, be left Mystery.

>>>> Is it that you, too, are unlearned, or are you handing out final open-book test questions? <<<<

I suspect there has been cherry-picking activity, one which would then be presented to you when it was known to be isolated "cherry", having been isolated from among items (other cherries) which could support your contentions better than his. So I raise a flag here ---Intellectual dishonesty alert---. It's right around the corner like a churning loaded cement truck going a bit too fast to stop?

Be careful, Blue. I sympathize with you, but this is just the kind of thing Vlad likes to seize on and try to shame you with. When Jesus ascended to Heaven (the third one) He did have a body, a spiritual one, without blood. That will be the kind we get at the harpadzo, the "Rapture":

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is" (1 Jn. 3:2 AV).

Blue, we now have a Man, a human, in Heaven, at the Father's favored right hand, making intercession for us. Remember that: A Man in Heaven, our representative.

Without Him, I'd have no prayer, no chance for one to be heard. Of that, there is no doubt.

Yet still, I don't pray to the Christ, save by praying to His true Father, as Jesus is attributed to having instructed.

They are both --- of the same stuff -- the same Spirit, there being no division among them, of that there can be no doubt, specially now, after the Christ's Ascension to where He was, just as He was before he came down from heaven in the first place. Assuredly now --- even more so than when Christ walked upon earth in form a man.

And they think Spider Man is indestructible. Wooo!

"And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit,
the redemption of our body.
. . .
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn(from the dead)
among many brethren" (Rom 8:28,29 AV; my insertion).

Time for another group groan . . .

Some Protestants - especially the anti-Catholic kind - wallow in Catharism and don't even know it. Once the Son gained a body He was only separated from it in death. Once He was raised from the dead He was never to be separated from it again for that would mean death (Ecclesiastes 12:7; James 2:26). Jesus CANNOT die again (Romans 6:9). Jesus is in Heaven. Since He has been raised from the dead He is not there in spirit only, nor in some sort of ghostly form. He is truly, and substantially, and bodily there. That fact is one of the reasons why some anti-Catholics say the Eucharist is NOT His flesh - for His body is in Heaven. http://newtheologicalmovement.blogspot.com/2011/06/only-difference-between-christs-body-in.html That anti-Catholic attack is also erroneous - just as erroneous as saying Jesus has no body. Once He gained a body He would never be without it except in death - and His death is over. He is resurrected. What you are denying is the reality of the resurrection. Either Jesus really rose bodily from the dead or He didn't. Either He really ascended into Heaven or He didn't. If He really arose from the dead, if He really ascended into Heaven, He is in Heaven, bodily. You're apparently so mired in heresies and denials of basic Christian truths that you apparently don't even see it. Thankfully, other Protestants are not so lost in heresy as you seem to be: https://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-physical-body.html I praise Christ my King, and offer Him thanks, for the opportunity to defend the reality of His Incarnation, the reality of His Resurrection, the reality of His (and our future) Heavenly glory with the coming of the New Heaven and the New Earth at the end of time, from those enemies of the Christian faith who post here at FR on the very weekend we celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ! “Be careful, Blue. I sympathize with you, but this is just the kind of thing Vlad likes to seize on and try to shame you with.”

What a strange turned about way of looking at things. Blue is posting out right heresies (and you apparently are fully aware of that or else you would be correcting him!) and yet your concern is not with the denial of the Incarnation and Resurrection by Blue, no, you’re worried I might “seize on [it] and try to shame [Blue] with [it].”

“Blue, we now have a Man, a human, in Heaven, at the Father’s favored right hand, making intercession for us. Remember that: A Man in Heaven, our representative.”

I’m glad you’re teaching Blue basic Christian doctrines. It is a shame that it needs to be done. It is even more shameful that a man who repeatedly attacks orthodoxy is such an avid proponent of heterodoxy as Blue is. Heresy is shameful in itself. Denial of the Incarnation and Resurrection is ALWAYS SHAMEFUL.

I made no such denial.

Go back and make amends to that other soul whom you had also falsely accused. Time is running out.

I don't really know what the Eastern Orthodoxen say that the elements of the Remembrance Supper are, or what the ordained partaking of them represents.

Well; from all the passages I can find in the NT; it appears to be a fairly normal Passover meal.

Just WHEN is Easter 'celebrated' in the Bible?
