March 23, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) A junior lecturer at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium is facing backlash from university officials because he distributed a 15-page document with philosophical arguments for calling abortion murder to about 100 first-year engineering students.
Stéphane Mercier has not been sanctioned yet, but the authorities declared in a statement on the universitys website that they are assessing the status of his text to determine whether it was actually used as part of his philosophy course. Whether that proves to be the case or not, UCL has dissociated itself from Merciers stance against abortion, calling it contrary to its values.
The case was brought to the publics attention by Synergie Wallonie, a Belgian association for the promotion of gender equality. Its objective is to promote gender mainstreaming while always fostering the respect of diversity and the need to think for each category of citizens (elderly, young, handicapped, immigrants, homosexuals). Sexual stereotypes and the neutral in masculine form perpetuate inequality but also the respect of unequal cultures present in our region.

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen attended The University of Louvain in Belgium where he earned the title “Doctor of Philosophy” in 1923.
ABORTION is MURDER!!
The headline sounds like one of those semi satire posts...This world has gone crazy.
I’ll bet they are gay too.
I wrote a thesis in college about the exact same subject at the University of Rochester - not a bastion of conservative values, but it was 1975 - it was welcomed in it’s research, writing, content and conclusions at the time, though not everyone agreed. None-the-less my opinion was welcomed. I doubt it would be the time.
Also, where is Francis and why hasn’t there been an instant condemnation of this for any reason by the Catholic church and every other Christian institution worldwide. We have to strike back very, very quickly and hard in these instances where an opinion is condemned because of disagreement and because it’s right!
> if I were in Las Vegas I'd bet it all and make a fortune...
In the 70’s I wrote an essay response on a college Biology test noting that abortion would lead to euthanasia policies and pursuit of a master race.
My pro-abort pro-abort prof didn’t appreciate my observation and gave me a D.
Fake no longer Catholic “Catholic” schools can be very embarrassing, hiring a Muslim to head a Religion department, giving Abortionist in Chief Barry Obama an honorary JD and arresting those that protested and setting up on campus Gay/Lesbian “Clubs” but this is over the top even for these low lifes masquerading as Catholic educators.
Here’s a newsflash fake Catholics according to Catholic Church doctrine abortion IS murder.
“Murder most foul as in the best it is...”
Don't snuff out their tiny lives...they want to live
Abortion is murder. The CATHOLIC University needs to read the Ten Commandments. IIRC, there’s a little something in there about murder being a sin.
So....we are at the point where a professor at a Catholic school can’t even raise points of discussion about an important moral issue of the day, and one where there is zero chance that they will change law. Their beloved abortions have no chance whatsoever of being legally discouraged. But now professors can’t even talk about reasons why it might not be a good idea, even though it is very very very legal?
And in a “Catholic” university?
Madness.Orwellian. Tragic.
Actually, abortion meets every single requirement for it to be considered first-degree premeditated murder . . . every single one of the requirements.
