And I believe you are speaking for God! If God wanted us to continue a required sabbath day one would think he would have told us in the New Testament. One would think somewhere Paul would have mentioned it in all those letters. He chided the churches for all sorts of sins, but never mentioned sabbath breaking. Read carefully the sabbath requirements from the Old Testament. I’ve never met a single sabbatarian who comes close to keeping them. If you believe in keeping the sabbath, do you also believe in the Old Testament punishment for sabbath breaking? If not, when we’re we freed from the punishment for sabbath breaking? Do you take Saturdays off? If yes, it’s arguable you are breaking the 4th Commandment because it commands us to work six days. I believe the sabbath passed away, just like the priesthood, circumcision, and temple sacrifices. If you don’t, that’s fine with me. I’m under no obligation to debate or explain myself further.
What chaps me about you in this thread is your tone. We can agree to disagree and do so with grace, but your accusatory tone hacked me off the other day and it’s still the same today. I don’t remember you being like that, but if that is who you are and how you act, that’s fine. I am comfortable talking to others with different views and don’t need everyone around me to believe just as I do. I have good friends who disagree with me here. I just got back from the Ligonier National Conference. I go every year. I know that most of the speakers save John MacArthur, Steve Lawson, and maybe Allister Begg would disagree with me, but I still love and appreciate them. My conscience is quite clear on this matter. I’m sticking with what the New Testament actually says, to wit:
“Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.” (Colossians 2:16)
