Today’s Gospel: Let everyone judge for themselves about the words of Christ.

Gospel
Mk 10:1-12
Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan.
Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom,
he again taught them.
The Pharisees approached him and asked,
“Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?”
They were testing him.
He said to them in reply, “What did Moses command you?”
They replied,
“Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce
and dismiss her.”
But Jesus told them,
“Because of the hardness of your hearts
he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate.”
In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus about this.
He said to them,
“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another
commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries another,
she commits adultery.”

Pope Francis: Jesus Did Not Tell the Pharisees that Divorce is Forbidden

No Jesus did not...But that's alright...Any thing you can do to drive people away from your religion is a good thing...

historically three reasons for divorce are recognized as valid.

adultery, abandonment, genuine physical violence up to trying to murder.

So what would Jesus do, again the Dilemma. But there is no dilemma because God gave us the law and the word and if Jesus Is God and God is Jesus then it’s a futile exercise to ask what Jesus would do because God already told us

Pope Francis is the enemy of my church. I see what he is doing to my church and it reminds me of what Obama did to my nation. Obama professed he loved our nation, Francis professes he loves his church. Both were and are liars.

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife. 1 Cor 7.

This is the Lord’s commandment.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law, and divorce was not originally allowed, as He said.

Paul said Christians must not divorce, but if divorced, remain single or reconcile.
