**Choosing to participate in his wife’s sin over God was Adam loving & choosing himself and his flesh over God’s love.**

Indeed Adam did choose his flesh over God; and his flesh included his wife:

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh......and they shall be one flesh.” Gen. 2:23,24

That, of course, doesn’t make their two souls one soul. But I think Adam was very much bonded to her, even to the extent that he would follow her choice instead of God.

Put yourself in Adam’s situation: she is part of him. Did he think to himself, “I’m going to lose her, because she is going to die for what she has done.”

Maybe he thought, “well she ate it and is still alive”. And then he made his ungodly choice.

If Adam had not participated in Eve’s sin, it gets convoluted, because most likely the child of sinless Adam and sinful Eve would be tainted with sin. The only sinless being would be Adam so maybe he would be the one to die for mankind? Dunno.

If Jesus came instead of Adam, you’d have Adam living forever and Jesus dying for mankind. Kind of a convoluted picture. From what I can tell, the redeemed of Christ would actually be better off in Heaven than sinless Adam who would seem to be stuck on earth. Probably makes more sense that Adam would die for mankind I guess.

But I think being redeemed and part of Christ Himself would still have been better than being redeemed by Adam. Doesn’t matter - just interesting conjecture.
