Pope Raps Christians Who Do Not Want Change
Catholic Culture ^ | 1/17/18

In his homily at a morning Mass on January 17, Pope Francis criticized “lazy Christians, Christians who do not have the will to go forward, Christians who don’t fight to make things change.”

Such Christians “have found in the Chuch a good place to park,” the Pontiff said. “And when I say Christians, I’m takling about laity, priests, bishops...” Such “stationary” Christians, he said, are a danger, like still water: “It is the first to go bad.”

Pope: Christians are not 'parked' but rather courageous (Vatican Radio)

Sounds like Obama doesn’t he - I think we all know what he means. Same sex marriage, women priest, openly gay priests, married priest, abortion... Pretty much what Obama meant.

In an essay entitled, Do We Have a Living Constitution? by Dr. Walter Berns, we find the following closing paragraph:
"That the American Constitution is long-lived, has enduring qualities, and was intended for the ages cannot be doubted. That it was founded on enduring principles, and that it was based on the authority of a people who are sovereign has been attested to by many of its leaders. That it can be changed when, and if, the people ordain such change is a part of its own provisions. For these reasons, it can be said to be a "Living Constitution" - but let that not be claimed by those who would use the language to subvert the structure." - Quoted from: Our Ageless Constitution - Part VII (1987) (Publisher: W. David Stedman Associates; W. D. Stedman & La Vaughn G. Lewis, Eds.) ISBN 0-937047-01-5 (Essay adapted by Editors for publication in this Volume in consultation with Dr. Walter Berns from Berns' article by the same title in National Forum, The Phi Kappa Phi Journal, Fall 1984)
If such can be said of the Constitution of the United States of America, then might we not expect to approach the subject of this thread with a degree of humility and deference to authority?

Sunroof tops are out-- no more fun like that, for Popes.

Sad to say. Too many crazies.

A pope is almost like a prisoner. Food may be better, can take an occasional trip by commercial (or leased corporate) jet, but it's not like anyone in that position can regularly walk down the street, maybe stop for a leisurely cup of coffee, then casually stroll on elsewhere.

He doesn’t want me and I don’t want to give him my $ so we agree on that at least. I did not leave the Catholic Church, it left me.

Yes. Another obscure sermon to chip away at the foundation of Christ.

Don't get me wrong, I don't intend to insult you, but from a distance, putting the two together "don't be a lazy parrot" when put to Christians in general (despite the goofy way he explains things, but still in the context of what he seemed to be intending to convey) could make some sense.

Ok, so a guy has to back wa-aay back to see it. lol

O Lord, grant us priests!
O Lord, grant us holy priests!
O Lord, grant us many holy priests!
O Lord, grant us many holy religious vocations!

Like the Four Cardinals, hey?

No offense or anything, but I don’t really accept raps from the Pope.

I just know that this Pope can throw down with the illest of dope ass rhymes.

Unfortunately, dope ass rhymes are not what I am looking for in a Pope.

He ought to know. His mouth is akin to a septic tank.

Standing up for truth and orthodoxy is like a wild chariot ride.

This Pope is caught in the still waters of the Sixties, trapped in time, inflexible in his worldview.

You can put a mirror up to this man every time he speaks ill of the righteous and you can see deep into his twisted soul.

I am Christian, but not Catholic.

I do not recognize him as a person in authority to tell me to do anything.

Ah - “you’re afraid of change” - the battle cry of every authoritarian struggling to impose his will on the masses - the quality, the direction, the effects of the change never come into question......
