I think my record on FR might speak to this question.

I come down mighty heavily on the side of being able to trust what is written in Scripture; and this; surely is; in SCRIPTURE!

1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
