Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Blessed is Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent.
Teach us To Stand Firm,
And Always look To You For Our Sustenance.
Keep us From Doing Whatever Seems Right In Our own Eyes,
Instead of looking to You For Our Answers.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

When I first moved into my trailer-home in April, I noticed a very ugly grate in the floor, smack-dab in the middle of the little hallway between the bedroom and the bathroom. It lay in wait there, to cut and pinch my bare feet in the dark, if I had to use the bathroom at night. When the heat was on, no heat came out of the grate, so it was stupid and useless! I went to a closeout store and found a beautiful, soft, plushy Oriental-Style rug to cover it up.

Fast-Forward to last Friday, with a house-guest, 4 degrees outside with a windchill of -20. The fuel line to my furnace was frozen solid from the tank to the furnace, and ice was squirting into my living room as the drains and water pipes began to freeze. Frantically, my sister and I boiled water and poured it down the drains, as the repairman threw up his hands in disgust and left, saying he couldn't do a thing for us until us two older ladies had thawed out the fuel line! This morning, it dawned on me. The ugly, useless grate in the floor is right over the fuel line. It was not part of the heating system at all, but was using house-heat to keep the fuel line from icing up! Needless to say, the rug has been moved, and I now wear slippers at night.

Liberal scholars have always bemoaned the existence of the Imprecatory Psalms, especially this one. ""Why would a loving God condone such 'hate speech'?" they ponder, "And why would King David, a 'Man After God's Own Heart', pray such vengeful prayers?"

The Imprecatory Psalm is like the ugly little grate in the hall. We try to cover it up with a soft pretty rug, but it is still there. We can't imagine why it would be included in our floor-plan because it has no purpose.

But, as I found out the hard way, it DOES have a purpose. David has no right to do his own vengeance, and he honored that twice when he had a clear opportunity to kill Saul. He does, however, have permission to ask God for Justice. "Vengeance is MINE", says the Lord, and when it happens, boy do we all KNOW it!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Praying for the Israelites.

P.S. I love your stories! I jump to read them before praying. Thank you.
