What incentive is there for a Catholic to remain obedient to the church's teachings, if the greatest heretic receives more honor than the greatest saints?

Faithful Catholics must cling to their Catholic Faith now more than ever.

Could Pope Francis Be a Secret Protestant?

I asked a friend of mine who is Lutheran.

She said, "he is their problem, we are not claiming him."

As for me, sorry, you elected him. We told you 1600 or so years ago that this was a bad idea.

man you musta had a chutzpah latte for breakfast

I’m southern baptist and we don’t think about this 16th century stuff so many Catholics here obsess over

I keep up cause ima pseudo intellectual ..lol...not for religious nanner nanner bragging rights

I hate to be the new bearer hoss but your average southern baptist is exponentially more conservative and a more reliable voter than your averaged Catholic

Most...yes I said most..Catholics I know off this board just pay lip service to their born faith...like most Jews

It’s just how it is

You wish Francis was a southern baptist of TX/TN church of Christ ....he’d be on level with JP2 or Benedict

No you guys own Francis the talking messianic humanist all by your lonesomes

Call your Cardinal

I will throw you a yummy King Cake though

Fran does talk like a Reformed Lutheran

Social justice warrior to the core

I don’t like it either

It’s good for humanity to have a good pope

No, because he doesn't take Protestantism seriously.

If he did, he might have behaved differently.

The Reformation Quincentennial is like our Civil War Centennial was: people figure it happened so long ago that that they can be nice to each other and just pretend it was a big misunderstanding.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

That’s desperation to try to explain away what’s happening in the Catholic church.

Maybe a mainline Protestant, but certainly NOT a Christian.

Hey, it’s YOUR college of cardinals who put him in place.

Supposedly guided by the Holy Spirit.

He’s all yours.

What more evidence do we need, to prove that Francis is a secret liberal Protestant, who unexpectedly found himself holding the position of the papacy?

Is this your attempt at reasoning??

He is no Protestant, he’s a communist, atheist.
The Roman Catholic Church will survive through this one as it has other devilish popes and through more to come.

Could Pope Francis be a secret protestant?

It's not a secret; it's public knowledge.

Bergoglio has winked at protestant spouses of Catholics sacrilegiously receiving Holy Communion.

He sure sounds like the Methodist and Episcofruits around here and advocates the same "Pastoral" consideration of things which is pretty much the Protestant excuse for having changed nearly everything they teach at least once in the past century use to explain away those changes.

So, yeah, he's a Protestant.

Folks who are part of groups that have all grown out of the Protestant revolt may not like it any more than we Catholics having this dolt as Pope, but the facts are the facts.

Is the Pope a secret Protestant? Test him on the five points of Calvinism, popularly known as TULIP Calvinism.

T = Total Depravity
U = Unconditional Election
L = Limited Atonement
I = Irresistible Grace
P = Perseverance of the Saints

For a detailed explanation of these doctrines, a good summary can be found at calvinistcorner.com

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You have implicitly answered your own question: The teachings of the Church and the machinations of the current Pope are mutually exclusive. He has not said or done anything that must be accepted as integral to the Catholic Faith. In other words, unless he speaks ex cathedra concerning a matter of faith or morals, he’s NOT speaking infallibly and therefore may be speaking fallibly.

Incentive? You mean like a 'tax' break? This is one of the more hilarious vanities I have come across lately. Now that 'Bible' you all love to take credit for writing says the 'saints' were already 'elected' by our Creator... It is traditions of man that devised up their own methodology of labeling 'saints'... Christ was the first 'protestant'... He spent the majority of His flesh walk chewing out the Roman government appointed 'high' priest and his buddies. Could it be, another temple cleansing is on the horizon?

What would cause some to pray for mountains to fall upon them?

Well; until a picture is published of him kissing a Quran Apocrypha-less bible...
