Shanly is a weak-kneed disgrace who finds it easier to conform to the madness of the world than stand unmoving for the Lord. The seculars on the other hand, are vicious, resentful, unregenerate natural men whose frozen souls are rolled into tiny balls of ice.
Shanley then suggested that Esolens truth-telling had violated our fundamental imperative on a Catholic campus: to be charitable to one another.
Really? I thought it was fundamentally imperative to teach students how to think critically, and objectively - while keeping the Faith in their daily lives.
Whatever...
Liberals are tolerant in the same way Muslims are peaceful, feminism is empowering and Santa Claus is an equal opportunity employer.
Why should we be surprised. It is liberals who backed Hillary and Podesta who said one of their goals was to rid the USA of Catholics. Or at least infiltrate it and make it a secular humanist social club where Jesus would be banned. (see wikileaks e-mails)
Since parents don’t seem to be doing this, college presidents or their designees should sit down every entering freshman (or “first-year”) and teach them the following:
You’re adults now. As an adult, as you go through life, you’re going to experience pain. Not everyone is going to agree wth you or with what you may have been taught by your parents and/or previous schools. In particular, the new Administration in Washington may not go along with the ideology of “political correctness” that you may have been immersed in. And the Church of Christ may reassert its doctrines and practices that do not agree with these secular ideologies.
You’re going to have to learn to be strong and to avoid being “triggered” by these eventualities. You’re also going to have to learn that there are no “safe spaces”. You’re also going to have to learn that you’re better off dealing with these issues as adults. Then you will be prepared to go out into the world beyond our university, and lead productive, adult lives.
I have to say, Love god and Love one another. That’s what you have to do. Critiquing others is not our job. Living as a role model is a virtual goal. But we are not the judge. We have enough to do with the commandments.
BTW - Tuition at Providence is about 46K a year..
