Why do church leaders suck up to Marxist regimes?
The Spectator ^ | Damian Thompson

When Fidel Castro died, Pope Francis ‘grieved’. That’s right: he grieved for the man who – in addition to murdering and torturing his opponents – spent half a century persecuting the Catholic Church in Cuba. But perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised: when Francis visited the island last year, he was gushingly appreciative of the regime’s hospitality and pointedly ignored dissidents. Even the liberal Washington Post accused him of ‘appeasing the Castros in repressive Cuba’.

It all reminds me of the way, in my youth, churchmen soft-pedalled their criticism of Communist regimes because, whatever their ‘flaws’, they were supposedly on the side of the oppressed. Is that fair? I asked my guest on this week’s Holy Smoke podcast, Edward Lucas of the Economist, a leading authority on east-west relations.

You really have to hear what he said. Warning: if you are one of those hand-wringing clerical boobies who think Marxist tyranny is no worse than the excesses of free-market capitalism, then you won’t enjoy this podcast. Listen here:

Short answer: They expect capitalism to be on the losing end of a revolution and are trying to build a stockpile of IOU’s for use with their new communist overloads.

Communism is a severe mental disorder in individuals and in society.

Because they swallowed it WHOLE..that infantile, egalitarian crap that we are all the SAME. They accept without reservation the, impossible, unworkable, rationally inconceivable horse s&^t that says we are all just a classless, mass of undifferentiated being.

I think you are missing the message of religions that follow a Christian God. The church and the people within it do not support the things Castro did, they support what they believe in, and that’s praying for God to forgive the man that did them.

It is written in the King James Bible In Romans 12-19: “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

It is further written in Romans 12:17-21 - Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.”

I am not saying anything to indicate you are or are not a religious person, or even have a belief in religion. But this may be an answer to the question I believe you asked.

God Himself said, "For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," declares the Lord GOD. "Therefore, repent and live." (Ezekiel 18:32). If He takes no pleasure then I suppose neither should I though it goes strongly against my human nature. If there is grief in this, it should be for another soul eternally separated from God.

Somehow with this Pope (disclaimer: I'm not a Catholic)I think the grief is not so much for the eternal loss a soul, but more for the loss of a fellow traveler.

“trying to build a stockpile of IOU’s”

Yes. This is part of the strong delusion that is referred to in the Bible.

I have a Master’s degree from a good school in recent Chinese history:

Early 1940: Intellectuals followed Mao to the Chinese hinterlands. Ended up getting persecuted.

Early 1950s: Intellectuals were encouraged with “Let 100 Flowers bloom.” Ended up getting persecuted.

Late 1950s: Great Leap Forward. People worked like slaves to build a New China materially through (sometimes volitional) communism. Ended up starving to death by the 10s of millions.

Mid 1960s: Chinese came back to their ancestral homeland to build a spiritual new China. “The East is red.” Ended up getting persecuted.

So you see, communism is a severe mental disorder of individuals who want to get drunk on power. Psychotic delusion.

This isn't just a sneaky way of saying you don't believe we're all descended from Adam and Eve, is it?
