This is the tactic we have seen and we will continue to see: every time any gay/homosexual is "offended", they will seek public attention and scream that it's discrimination. They are not rational and they are not patient. They will never stop because their brains are broken.

The priest was right.

Liberals love to change the definitions of words. They’re hammering away at the word “Christian,” telling us that the very definition of Christianity is acceptance of everyone everything. They say that if we don’t embrace their sin, we’re not real Christians.

Sorry to see the weak kneed response from the Bishop. No this is not a time to seek “reconciliation”, this is a time to back the priest and seek a teaching moment for these relatives.

At this point in time, I've come to consider most Bishops unfaithful and have stopped putting money in collection baskets because of it.

“The Catholic Church upholds the dignity of those with same-sex attraction,”

There is nothing dignifying about homosexuality.

I was raised catholic but left for evangelical Christianity many years ago. A few years back, I had to help my catholic mother in law plan my FIL’s funeral.

In meeting with the priest, he told us that their liturgical calendar required them to use the readings in the book, which were wholly inappropriate for use at a funeral. I think it had to do with offerings and giving.

I thought it was pretty stupid to have a sermon about giving money to a church at a guy’s funeral, but that’s the system the in law’s signed up for.

That said, that’s the system. In this case, it’s his grandmother’s church, not the guy’s. I’m sure that he can work out a time to sing during the viewing, or even after the ceremony.

Sorry dude, sometimes their are standards that we all have to live by. It’s too bad he can’t understand that. But then he lives a lifestyle where everything in life is wrapped up in destroying standards and norms in favor of his personal choices.

if the church will not teach God’s ways, he will form a new one..stand up for truth, the gay lifestyle is a bad choice , very destructive and an abomination to the Lord..

Follow him, repent or perish in their sins..deal with it and change..no homosexuals in Heaven..period
