Cyrus was the king of Persia / Iran who God referred to literally as his "Messiah" to restore Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. (Books of Ezra and Nehemiah)
In the book of Esther you see where the kingdom of Persia was infiltrated by Amalekites (Agagites). This has continued to our times where the Persian element is represented by the Shah and the Amalekite by the Ayatollah.
Their natures remain the same; just as modern terrorists will attack grammar schools and pizza restaurants, their ancient Amalekite ancestors would ambush children and elderly people and attack the stragglers from behind.
