Dear Heavenly Father,
You have blessed America with so much. I thank you for our beautiful landscapes, our rich resources, the ingenuity of our people. I thank You for the kindness, generosity, and warmth that pervades communities everywhere — a spirit of goodness and decency which transcends political, social, or racial and cultural divides.
And yet oh LORD, the smiles of people mask much heartache, darkness, fear, and hopelessness. Heroin use is at epidemic levels. Mass violence from domestic and foreign entities threaten to undo what little innocence we have left. Families are broken. STD rates are high. Abortion still legal. Addictions of every kind plague our people. And we are spiritually weak as a nation.
Satan has had his way for far too long.
No one election can solve or redeem our fallenness, only you can do that — yet I pray for Donald Trump and Mike Pence to set a tone and create an atmosphere by which Your Spirit can freely move among the people and throughout the land. For leaders in government who will not resist You, who will not seek to weaken or silence Your people nor Your ministers. I pray that the floodgates of righteousness pour out on the country.
I pray for the doors to open so that Christians can be of influence in every corner of society from the arts and politics to the oil fields, banks, and factories.
Please remove the scourges of secularism and Darwinism and political correctness that have so undermined our Biblical foundations and stifled people’s active love and pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
You already reign Supreme, oh LORD - yet in these coming days especially I pray You make Your presence felt and known. I pray You bound all the demons which hope to foment unrest and chaos.
We thank You for all You are doing and pray for more miracles. More avalanches of lies to come crushing down for everyone to see. And for streams of righteousness to flow after the lies melt.
Amen and Amen. While I think following the news too closely at this time can steal joy and peace, watching God answer our prayers for truth and righteousness to prevail is certainly exciting! I agree with your prayers for repentance for our enemies as God reveals His goodness. What testimonies we will get to hear! Thank you all for your petitions. You bless countless.
