CRS is in pretty bad odor, at least in my parish. Second collections for CRS are very slim.
Try Food for the Poor instead. I don’t even give to my diocese because it gives to unCatholic groups.
Abortion is wrong.
Condoms are a good idea. For disease prevention if nothing else.
You’ll never reduce poverty as long as poor people keep having children, and that’s just the way it is.
CRS is an evil, wicked arm of the apostate USCCB.
Can’t say what I’m thinking here.
I still open the envelope for their trinkets but I havent donated in 7+ years when I discovered these issues. You’d figure I’d be off the mailing list by now.
For charity, www.CrossCatholic.com is the way to go
It seems CRS has turned out to be anything but.
I will be using much more discretion to what outfits I give money to from now on.
Oh, yea of little faith. Christ told us that the poor will always be amongst us.
Why would you object to the conception of a soul that has a chance to get to Heaven, whether or not the child was born into a poor family or a wealthy family?
Were the Blessed Mother and St Joseph poor or wealthy?
“Condoms are a good idea. For disease prevention if nothing else.”
That’s not the Catholic Church’s position, so Catholic organizations cannot promote (directly or indirectly) the distribution of condoms. Here’s an analogy: I believe in Jesus Christ, but I respect Jews’ right to refuse to support organizations that promote Christian beliefs and practices. If Catholic Relief Services wants to be, well, Catholic, it cannot promote contraception or be in cahoots with organizations that do. Just common sense.
CRS has responded to these allegations.

Eliminate poverty? Will never happen. But to subsidize or encourage it is not moral or ethical.
Reducing poverty however can be achieved. Free vasectomies and $100 to all who take the offer would eliminate a great deal of misery.
As for encouraging the creation of souls just so they have chance of going to heaven or Hell. That’s not only silly but borders on pernicious.
It has never been about giving poor women A CHOICE....You want poor women to make the choice for their own body, tell them the truth about the racist roots of birth control and abortion...Well,if we tell them the truth they won’t destroy their population....EXACTLY...It has never been about giving the poor a choice..It has always been about exterminating them...
You wouldn’t say condoms were a good idea if you knew the truth about the racist roots of birth control..Planned Parenthood started out pushing birth control to control the poor, immigrant population..It has never been about poor women having a choice...
If birth control and abortion is about eliminating poverty and misery, why aren’t poor women given the truth about the racist agenda of abortion and birth control??? Why aren’t they given A CHOICE???Because the people pushing birth control and abortion think minority women are too stupid to make the choice about their own bodies...If it was really about women`s choices, they would have been given the truth from day one....

Seems that way in my parish, as well. Ditto for the Archdiocesan collections.

I see you are not a practicing Catholic, if even a Catholic at all.
I see you also reject the Bible:
[27] And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. [28] And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. Genesis Chapter 1.
I never mentioned Hell. God does not will souls to go to Hell. He wills them to go to Heaven. It's up to us to follow God's will.
