Archdiocese provokes Mexican ‘discrimination’ police by stating ‘people aren’t born homosexual’

The Archdiocese of Mexico has kindled the ire of the country’s “discrimination” police after publishing an interview with psychologist Richard Cohen, who recounts his conversion from homosexuality to heterosexuality as well as his subsequent career as a therapist for those suffering from same-sex attraction.

In an article entitled “People aren’t born homosexual,” the archdiocesan weekly newspaper Desde la fe (From the Faith) writes that homosexuality is “reversible” and quotes Cohen stating that his own homosexuality was caused by the disordered relationships he experienced with his parents and siblings.

“There was a lack of unity with my father and an excessive attachment with my mother; there was physical abuse on the part of my older brother and sexual abuse by my uncle, but among the most important things was that I had a hypersensitive temperament,” Cohen told Desde la fe.

“If there were anything genetic or biological in homosexuality, it would be hypersensitivity; hypersensitive boys and girls can easily be injured,” Cohen told the newspaper. “Boys are often injured by the aloofness of their fathers and girls by that of their mothers. It might be a true distancing or by way of a false interpretation, but this perception is transformed into their reality, and it is highly probable that they will seek that unrequited love in the arms of a person of the same sex.”

However, Cohen began to develop a sense of masculine identity and opposite-sex attraction after receiving the acceptance and affirmation of heterosexual male friends. “I then felt a calling from God to get a master’s degree in psychology and to help others to overcome same-sex attraction,” he told Desde la fe. The newspaper notes that Cohen claims to have helped thousands of homosexuals abandon the lifestyle and to have trained trained thousands of therapists to do the same for their patients.

The article, which contradicts fundamental precepts of homosexual ideology, drew the attention of Mexico City’s ultra-leftist Council to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination (COPRED), which sent a warning letter to the editorial board of Desde la fe, which “reminded ... Desde la fe of the obligation of the authorities to guarantee to all persons the enjoyment of fundamental rights without any discrimination,” and warned the president of the board, Fr. Hugo Valdemar, “in a not very conciliatory tone, the intention of COPRED to censure and sanction any opinion that might create a climate of intolerance, defamation, and homophobia against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans community of the nation’s capital,” according to the newspaper.

Fr. Valdemar has responded to the letter by accusing COPRED of “mutilating” the text of the article in quoting it selectively and notes that the homosexualist Yogyakarta Principles, which COPRED cited in its letter, have no juridical status and are not binding on Mexico in any treaty.

The Yogyakarta Principles “do not have an international consensus, nor is part of political or juridical agreements, and lacks legitimacy in that it undermines democratic structures by way of a divisive influence that favors ideologies over systems of particular law,” Valdemar wrote in an open letter published on the newspaper’s website.

So far, no response from COPRED has been announced.

COPRED’s threatening letter is the second time that Catholic clergy have come under fire from Mexico’s anti-discrimination authorities in recent months.

As LifeSiteNews reported earlier, the bishop of Cuernavaca, Ramón Castro, has been placed under investigation by COPRED’s national counterpart, the National Council for the Prevention of Discrimination, at the behest of a homosexual group for repeatedly opposing the gay agenda in the state of Morelos.

“If I go to prison, no problem, I’ll do the work of evangelization there,” Castro told his flock during a sermon at the cathedral in mid-August.

People are born with a predisposition to sin.

Sin deceives them through their irrational emotions.

They soon come to think that their sin is normal and natural, and that they are not perverts badly in need of repentance from sin.

Sexual sin is, homosexual or not, unlike other sins. We are wired for sex and in the correct context it is something a man and wife share that can even glorify God. But sex not in the proper context still activates the brain hardware, the chemical signals that can even alter brain formation they are so powerful. What WAS to draw man and wife together becomes a drug of a different nature. Even an addiction in some. And, yes, in others a complete perversion.

Homosexuality is a CHOICE. How else do you explain bisexuals.

It is also a vice, a hedonistic addiction. No different from gluttony or alcoholism. Although people with those other vices are far more redeemable than the perverted degenerate homosexuals. They are the lowest of the low.

They are not born that way.

Ust like people are not born adulterers,,or murderers or thieves, or sluts and whores, or perverts, or liars, or drunks or gossips.

We all have personal sin preferences that we like. We have to fight against them. Not call them good and encourage people to do them.

A study just came out saying homosexuality is not baked-in-cake genetic but can change during a lifetime.

See David French article in National Review.

Sexual sin is, homosexual or not, unlike other sins.

I disagree (as do the Church Fathers). Sexual sin is just like other sins: a perversion or exaggeration of a disposition toward something good.

Most governments in the world are now decidedly anti-Christ and anti-Christian whether they go all the way to backing the Satanic lie of Iz Lame or not. Mexico has a long history of wanting to destroy all Christian churches, the Catholic Church in particular and the US has helped them in that effort ever since the early 1900s.

People arguing that the US is intrinsically Christian better think again because very early on the US government explicitly stated in a treaty that the US was not a Christian nation. Article 11 of The Treaty of Tripoli reads as follows :

Article 11 reads: Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen (Muslims); and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan (Mohammedan) nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

That's not hot air or diplomat speak, either. The majority of those who have headed departments and agencies or served an administration in other capacities in Wilson have been working hard to undermine Christianity in this country and to induce Christians to teach whatever contradictions to Scripture the small elite feel benefit them and their agenda.

I guess a lot of people realize inducing Christian churches to accept contraception was in large measure because that ruling elite agreed with Margret Sanger, not about over population, but with the "need" to keep Catholics and non-Catholic Fundamentalists from continuing to have large families.

If you dig around, you'll also find that the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations worked to have companies that were moving from the Northeast and Mid West to the South move overseas instead because having Catholics well enough off to care for a large family was, in their opinion, only marginally better than having white folks in the Bible Belt well enough off to have a large family.

If Trump isn't our next President, our First Amendment right to freedom of religion will cease to exist plus, there won't ever be a chance again (barring a violent overthrow of the government somewhere down the road) for people who seem to have finally awakened to reality to get involved and change what sort of people they send to Congress and how their own State is run. IOW,

This Is It

(You think that maybe it's over,)
(Only if you want it to be.)
Are you gonna wait for a sign, your miracle?
Stand up and fight.

(This is it.)
Make no mistake where you are.
(This is it.)
You back's to the corner.
(This is it.)
Don't be a fool anymore.
(This is it.)

In fact, This Is It should be Trump's theme song.

The Catechism says homosexuality’s cause is not known. Whether it is genetic or environmental doesn’t change that it is an inclination to immoral and sinful activity. It’s like alcoholism or heterosexual pedophilia, those who for whatever reason have been challenged with this problem must learn to resist the inclination.

Besides JP II’s catechism, what catechism even talks about homosexuality?

And you would be wrong.

Oh, sure, if we were just spirit beings you’d have a point ... but we are still flesh and blood.

In fact the Apostle Paul expressly noted WHY sexual sin was worse for the sinner, why it was harder to escape, because it is done against our own bodies too.

He may not have known about brain chemistry but he could plainly see the consequences of same in the lives of actual persons.

Sex digs deeply into our brains because of the chemicals it causes to be released. Engaging in sex even can alter the structure of the brain.

Other sins by in large do not do that. They may be made more likely by abnormalities IN a brain but they do not (in so far as I know) usually cause changes TO the brain.

This is why, modern medical knowledge or simple honest human observation alike, we should flee sexual sins. They are dynamite. Like when our Lord asked if a man can take fire into his bosom and not get burned.

In marriage, where both were each other’s first AS SHOULD BE THE CASE, never mind that it should be one man and one woman only, all of this sex chemistry helps to knit the two together. It serves God’s purposes ... even if the man and woman don’t know Him as savior.

Outside of that they scar and disassociate the specific high from the one and only person who it should belong to.

Again, flee sexual immorality.

To this I will add that in addition to the licentious behavior long associated with homosexuality there is now seemingly a new thing being added into the mix when homosexuals come to see them being homosexual as if it were the defining aspect of their identity. This is, without apology, a spiritual stronghold in Satan’s service right where nobody ever needs one.

I’m not going to say that this identity thing wasn’t going on in the 70s, when open homosexuals were certainly as in-your-face as ever before or since (and closeted ones also often exceedingly promiscuous), though that might have been the case ... it just wasn’t obviously the case to those far removed from the homosexual death-style as I’m.

Yet by in large it seems as if Satan has not been able to convince most sexual libertine sinners to identify themselves by their sin. It just remains something that they do and not the core of how they see themselves. I say that as someone who, as a relatively young child, was exposed to porn so I’m not so far removed from it as I’m from all the faggotry going on.

It certainly isn’t the case that we often find thieves, murderers, and others identifying themselves to their core by their sins ... though maybe swindlers and false teachers do often qualify (it’s hard to tell).

It is not remarkable, then, that when listing one proverbial canary in a coal mine whose death should warn the miners that the air is getting bad the Apostle Paul cited homosexuality. Being turned over to a reprobate mind does not start with homosexuality nor does it end there ... but if that canary dies miners in the real world take notice rather than continue their raunchy celebration of homosexual identity: both those in it and those clamoring to praise it.

It probably arises from irrational processes.

A moment of lust or curiosity that is dwelled on in the emotions, sowing confusion about what is desired and ultimately being set upon by sin to deceive the sinner that that is what they want, even what they are.

No two falls into sexual depravity are likely ever the same even though they may be all somewhat similar.

It is sin, and not the parent, instructing the child in the way they should go ... to serve sin ... and if it completes will they ever depart from it?

Try to argue rationally with a heart flutter or a longing glance and the irrational sin-sick mind needs no justification to consider you bad for you seek to deny that which it thinks makes it happy.

Indeed, with respect to sex our whole popular culture seems to be built around the notion that all these sexual escapades are THE sum of the pursuit of happiness. Being a prude, being chaste, is something they mock, something they are scandalized by.

Indeed, we now live in a society where the libertine just about want the government to regulate everything, everything except sex.

Neither The Catechism of The Council of Trent (1566) nor the Baltimore Catechism (the de facto standard Catholic school text in the North America from 1885 to the late 1960s) include any specific reference to homosexuality.
