Frankly, as a Catholic, I don't think any of the priests spend much time reading and analyzing the Bible, let alone the Old Testament.

They have lost their way!!!

They periodically go on retreats which, I believe, are nothing more than brainwashing sessions.

Well, the priesthood is a bureaucracy, and all bureaucracies have the same weaknesses. Why spend a lot of time studying the Bible when studying the current fashionable trends in the bureaucracy will help you advance a lot quicker?

We are just finish a long study of Deut. with our Men’s Bible Study, and it has been nothing short of amazing! It all takes place in the last 5 weeks before beginning the war to conquer the Promised Land. In it all of the promises (good and bad)of God are re-iterated, then they are ready to fight to obtain the land promised to them by God. But they had to fight!

In this book we find the nature of God without the redeeming filter of Jesus. But the true nature of God is not changed by Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection - Jesus just paid the price of sin which we deserve.

I guess the Pope believe the nature of God has changed - NOT POSSIBLE!!
