You haven’t proved that Catholic doctrine promotes the Catholic worship of Mary.

Many have stated truthfully that the Blessed Mother of God is not worshiped in the Catholic Church the same as God, but you keep making the same false statement.

In Scripture, the term “worship” was similarly broad in meaning, but in the early Christian centuries, theologians began to differentiate between different types of honor in order to make more clear which is due to God and which is not.

As the terminology of Christian theology developed, the Greek term latria came to be used to refer to the honor that is due to God alone, and the term dulia came to refer to the honor that is due to human beings, especially those who lived and died in God’s friendship—in other words, the saints. Scripture indicates that honor is due to these individuals (Matt. 10:41b). A special term was coined to refer to the special honor given to the Virgin Mary, who bore Jesus—God in the flesh—in her womb. This term, hyperdulia (huper [more than]+ dulia = “beyond dulia”), indicates that the honor due to her as Christ’s own Mother is more than the dulia given to other saints. It is greater in degree, but still of the same kind. However, since Mary is a finite creature, the honor she is due is fundamentally different in kind from the latria owed to the infinite Creator.

I did not attack your character, I indicated your lack of knowledge of Catholic doctrine. Hopefully you will make a concerted effort to understand Catholic dogma before you make a false statement about Catholic doctrine that came from Jesus.

Many have stated truthfully that the Blessed Mother of God is not worshiped in the Catholic Church the same as God, but you keep making the same false statement.

Let's see.

Idols of mary. Check

Catholics kneel before these idols of mary. Check

Catholics pray to mary. Check

Catholics have invoked special titles for mary as advocate, mediatrx, redemptrix. Check

Catholics rely upon mary for salvation/answered prayers. Check.

In any other system this is worship of a goddess. Except the catholic wants to deny what is obvious to everyone else.

Part of this stems from the catechism and its treatment of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:2 A Traditional Catechetical Formula
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. 1. I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.

In another thread Salvation posted the one on the right as one of the Ten Commandments.

Here they are again at the following website.

http://www.beginningcatholic.com/catholic-ten-commandments

I am the Lord your God. You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.

Notice what's missing?

For brevity I did not post all Ten.

Interesting on that web page there are no references to Exodus 20 where the true Ten Commandments are. I wonder why?

What is sad is this is a website for beginning catholics. There are several references to the catechism, but not Exodus. Why doesn't catholicims use the book it claims it gave the world?

Roman catholicism has to amend the Ten Commandments to deal with the issue of idols of mary.

Catholicism claims mary was immaculately conceived though catholic sources admit this is not supported in Scripture.

Proof from Scripture

Genesis 3:15

No direct or categorical and stringent proof of the dogma can be brought forward from Scripture. http://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=6056

Yet catholicism plows right ahead in a vain attempt to do so.

These are just part of the reasons Christians rightly say roman catholicism worships mary.
