Excellent point. I can only fast on weekends because low blood sugar and work don’t mix well for me.
Perhaps for me, every weekend through November is a good start.
I have found The LORD to be very open to answering the prayers of those who fast and pray. It really is an amazing way to draw near unto The LORD. I think if more Christians realized how powerful before The LORD fasting and praying actually is they would surely do it. It seems to me the more over the years you do, the more The LORD pours out His Spirit upon those who seek Him through fasting and praying.
For me it can be hard to start a time of prayer and fasting. The flesh fights it. I have learned to ask The LORD to prepare a time of fasting and praying for me. Then I find myself doing it. Once I do, it often isn’t hard, but a pleasure.
When Donald Trump was floundering a while back The LORD prepared a fast and prayer time with Him. Afterwards Donald suddenly did wonderfully. I don’t know how much He used my fasting and praying about the situation, but I know He did.
I have been having heart trouble for a long time, so I need The LORD’s help to fast for very long and not have it hurt me. I usually fast for one, two or sometimes three days. Many years ago when I fasted for 5 days it was right before President Reagan was shot. On the fifth day of my fasting and praying I was sitting in my Church’s nursery, not really thinking about much of anything, and I very clearly received a prompt from The LORD to pray that the assassination attempt on President Reagan would not be successful, so I did, and it wasn’t, Praise The LORD.
Hope you have The LORD’s success with fasting and praying for Donald Trump, Mike Pence and for this election. Hopefully many, many will join in and pray and fast too. It is truly a privilege so to do so. It is a great way for we Christians to truly impact history for God’s good.
