Atonement is a core part of Judaism, and if you’re a practicing Jew who understands how prayer works, you tend to go to synagogue on the High Holy Days though it’s not uncommon for Jews to observe at home.
There are slight differences in the various movements (i.e. some services have more English than others).
Nothing changes the core tenet of atonement and forgiveness. We don’t believe in the concept of “original sin.”
We’re commanded to practice the Holiest Day outlined in Torah.
I’m going to need a bigger screen.
All I can say as I was reading your directions, and being a Catholic is: Oh, THAT’S where we got that, and that and that.
Of course, Jesus was a Jew. He gave us Jewish customs. Except how come Lent is 40 days? :-)
Do you confess to another person, or just sit with G-D and talk?
No, Elshaddi is a Messianic Rabbi named Mark Biltz. Very informative and opens the Jewishness of the Scriptures for Christians. Take some time to watch his live services on the weekends and I think you will like him. The Lord’s Feast’s DVD’s were very good and I had people over for Bible study with them. Another place I go is Gatewaypeople.com and look at their stuff. They have Jewish service there also along with Robert Morris Gateway church service. There is also a theblessedlife.com for some of the best teaching on the web.
