I’m not sure why so many side with Hitchens. He clearly despised religion with a passion. She was hated because of her opposition to abortion & contraception. She recognized the value of suffering & saw the suffering of Christ in those she tended to.
Personally - I’ll take the side of the sweet old lady who did her best to love others.
I believe many in this increasingly secular world resent her because she showed the clear moral superiority of Christianity over Hinduism and secularism; Hindus and other leftists were content to leave these people to die in misery.
