Its usually hypocritical because the people usually saying that are unhappy about being judged about something they are doing or advocating.

If you don’t learn to judge others, you don’t learn from their mistakes and you don’t protect yourself from mishap. Used to think the same way the Pope directs and then realized that you don’t grow as a human being if you don’t have good judgement. If you are not judgemental, you would open all the prisons and let those that were judged to be a danger to us out into society.

He was trying to change the ways of the others.....not hanging with them.
Jesus was confronting a lawless MOB unlawfully about to condemn a prostitute to death.
1st of all, no one in the mob had the authority to cast judgement on the girl, and were thus about to commit murder themselves.
2nd, prostitutes don't have sex alone, and I am betting that in a small town many of the men there had been her clients, thus making them just as guilty as her!
3rd, there is no possible way to spread the word of how God wishes us to live our lives and what God does not wish us to do without JUDGING others behavior!

Are you serious? I am a devout Catholic and have no problem having my own opinion. The Pope is a human being, not Jesus, who asks us to be non-judgemental. How do you make a decision about bad or good if you don’t use judgement? We learn from others mistakes. . . some judgement needs to be used in those and all circumstances. Idealism and common sense sometimes are opposites.

God. God gave all men reason, that we may use it to make judgements for ourselves. He wouldn’t have given it to us if He didn’t intend for us to use it.
