I have to wonder.....

What exactly is the mentality of a Catholic who tries so hard to get a believer to doubt his salvation?

It’s like if they can’t have it, nobody can.

Do they really want others to go through life in fear and trembling, expecting the worst, never knowing if you’ve been good enough until it’s too late?

What kind of god is that?

Not the One I find in Scripture, that’s for sure.

It has to go back to control. The long history of the rcc is evidence of this. From not wanting the people to read the Bible, trying to keep it in Latin and not the native tongues.

The concept of the mortal sin that only a priest can forgive would keep me in abject fear. The priest would never leave my sight.

The lack of trust in Christ in part explains the reliance upon Mary for so much.

All of the doing catholics say is required to keep/earn your salvation shows a lack of faith.

Not good enough for me. If I can't know positively, that I am going to Heaven, then it's all about eat, drink and be merry.
