Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Character Studies From The Bible
John
(Revelation 3)
To the Church in Laodicea
14 To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of Gods creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarmneither hot nor coldI am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches..

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Yikes! What an indictment! Imagine a congregation, so complacent and apathetic, that it would make Jesus nauseous! Yet, the "Laodicean Church" is perhaps the most commonplace of all, especially in our own prosperous and relatively free country. When we are blessed with Liberty and Safety, it is easy to take it for granted, and become apathetic.
A good example of this is how America responded right after 9/11/01. All of a sudden, because we realized we were under attack, Americans lined up to volunteer, to give blood, to help out in any way they could. Flags flew from every house and passions ran high. There was an incredible air of unity and patriotism that affected us all.
However, as time wore on, people settled back into their ennui and apathy to the point where we have become "lukewarm". Because of "lukewarm-ness", the evil one was able to take over nearly every aspect of life in America, including the Christian Church of all denominations. And, like Jesus said, it's SICKENING!
The Letter to Laodicea, however, is not all "doom and gloom". Christ says to them, "I stand at the door and knock". He has not abandoned the Laodiceans. And, once again, the Letter ends with a Promise.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

While it’s certainly true that this is the age of Laodicea, I believe that there are Christians currently alive and awaiting the coming of our Lord & Savior who are part of other Churches as well.
I humbly believe many Christians who stand firmly with Christ are part of the Church of Philadelphia.
We have little strength but keep His Word.
I thank God everyday for Salvation thru Christ and as this Age of Grace comes to a close, we’re probably in for a whole lot more terrifying events on the road ahead.
The main thing is to wear the Armor of God and keep your eyes on him.!
God Bless!

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!
"The Church at Laodicea"

ND unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth |
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Agreeing in prayer. How far we as a country have fallen in such a short period of time. The lukewarm church is very visible in America . . . with its congregation lulled into complacency and apathy.
