Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Heavenly Father,
How Precious,
How Wonderful,
How Lovely To Be in Your Presence!
Your Name is So Hallowed,
So Holy and Pure,
and Your Lovingkindness is From Everlasting to Everlasting!
Your Love is Unsearchable,
Your Mercy Unexplainable,
Your Peace Passes Understanding!

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

When we read the Gospel of John, we noticed that the Author seemed shy about using his own name in the narrative. John referred to himself as "The Other Disciple", the "Disciple that Jesus loved", and "The One Who Testifies to these things". Here, in the Book of Acts, we see his name over and over, even in the same paragraph, and always as a companion to Peter. As long as they are IN Jerusalem, Peter and John are a team.

We see also, that this is very soon after Pentecost, as these events take place on the steps to the Temple. There is no inkling of the tragic disaster that was to take place in 70AD, the destruction of the Temple by the Romans.

This puts a very early date on the writing of the Book of Acts, yet we know from context that it was written AFTER the Gospel of Luke, which precedes it.

For a Jew to tell a First Century Story and leave out the Destruction of Jerusalem would be like a New Yorker describing 2001 and leaving out 9/11.

At this point, Peter and John are working together, John is caring for Mary at his home in Jerusalem, the tiny group of Christians are living as a community within the city, and the Apostles are still praying in the Temple as members a small Jewish sect. Titus and the Romans have not yet sacked the city, and the Siege of Masada has not yet occurred. A lot can happen in 40 years!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
