Catholic Priest to Tim Kaine: ‘Don’t Show Up in My Communion Line’

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 25, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — A Catholic priest asked that pro-abortion Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine “do us both a favor” and not show up in his Communion line.

“I take Canon 915 seriously. It'd be embarrassing for you & for me,” tweeted Dominican Father Thomas Petri, the vice president and academic dean of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies.

Canon 915 of the Code of Canon Law instructs that those “persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person — among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. ... Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law...Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense” (CCC 2270 - 2272).

As a U.S. senator from Virginia, Kaine has crusaded for the expansion of abortion on demand while claiming to be personally pro-life and a faithful Catholic. His stance on abortion has evolved to the left over the years. In 2005, Kaine supported abstinence-based sex education and measures to reduce abortions. He also came under fire from NARAL for authorizing the sale of “Choose Life” license plates. But once he was elected to the senate in 2012, Kaine became much more vocally pro-abortion. As a senator, he co-sponsored a bill to undermine pro-life laws across....

Methinks this priest is going to get a note from “The Boss” in The Vatican.

Tim Kaine reminds me of the “Inconceivable!” guy from Princess Bride.

Mark Levin revealed last night that Kaine is even further to the left than Hillary, as if that's possible.

He scores "0" or "F" on various conservative scorecards.

In the past I have said on FR that the Catholic Church should notify prominent politicians who hold contrary views on moral teachings of the Catholic Church that they are in error and the reason why.
Then these heretics should be told to correct their views or be excommunicated.

The Catholic Church does not do this, and it results in religious chaos, and basically allows heretics to claim to be Catholics, and that confuses other Catholics. -Tom

Not quite, but Father's superior will probably get a visit from diamond-cufflink wearing Cardinal Wuerl (aka "Wuerl the girl").

Since when is it up to individual oiess to decide?

Jesus said “do this in memory of me” not “do this unless you did something the curch disagrees with”

So sin has been reduced to a simple disagreement?

That response makes no sense at all.

I dont recall any conditions being imposed by Jesus.

He did not say ONLY do this if you’re sinless.

Kaine, like most of these self-styled Doctors Of The Church, usually know exactly where to go to get their fake communion from some rebellious or burned-out priest.

Without knowing for sure, I’d bet that he was one of those who showed-up in Communion lines at Francis’ inaugural Papal mass, as did Pelosi, Biden, a handful of Kennedys...the usual suspects.

These freaks would change the Church to their views, their theology, ultimately to their view of its essence as a homosexual dominated feel-good club.

They did it to the once conservative Episcopal Church. The Catholic Church is very high, if not predominant on their agenda.

Jesus said “do this in memory of me” not “do this unless you did something the curch disagrees with”

The "do this in memory of me" is Jesus' instruction to the Apostles and their successors (i.e the Church) to consecrate the bread and wine in the Sacrifice of the Mass until He comes again.

Reception of the sacred species by the faithful, on the other hand, is quite a different issue. As St. Paul says.....

"But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. 1Cor. 11: 28-29.

He did say go and sin no more.
However some churches (mostly flying a rainbow flag) preach “go and sin some more”.

I am just saying, Jesus didn’t say ONLY the sinless should do this in his memory.

And for the church to say only those without sin can receive communion is a rule that Jesus didn’t make.

There are many others, I am a bit cynical about the church and what they will let people do if paid the right amount of money.

Is there a FReeper priest who can tell us IF any penitent has ever confessed to voting Democrat? Without breaking the seal of the confessional, that is?
