And Mary said,
My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.
It's not "we" who brought Blessed Mary into it, it's God who brought her into it. She is--- on behalf of Faithful Israel and on behalf of the human race --- the cooperator with the Incarnation.
Everything else flows from that.
When we celebrate that, we are glorifying God for the "Great Things" he has done for her.
It seems to be that a healthy human attitude is to be grateful for this lowly one whom God raised up. And not to resent her or try to "level" her, as if God had no business raising her, and we need to push her back down to the dust.
or try to "level" her
By using the examples in the Bible, we are shown not to esteem one person above another. God doesn't do that. Acts 10:34 neither should we.
as if God had no business raising her
Somebody is judging God, now? I don't think so. More like judging anothers doctrine that is not in harmony with the Gospel.
and we need to push her back down to the dust.
Another false accusation against a brother.
Which are what?
