Yes -- the same sacrifice, not a "resacrifice." The sacrifice itself is eternal -- the form it took in time was Calvary.

Some catholics have called it a re-sacrifice so i use their language. You call it the same sacrifice.

Point is....it goes against the Word as does verga's claim that God came into existence.

11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

13waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. 14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. Hebrews 10:11-14 NASB

How many times was the brass snake placed upon the pole for the Israelites to look upon it to receive healing? what blasphemy did the Israelites fashion from the event of the brass snake? Hundreds of years after Moses made the snake and the Israelites who place faith in the healing, the Israelites were making little copies and offering sacrifices and prayers to their little brass snakes. It was one of the blasphemies Hezekiah had to clean out when he became King of Israel. He even destroy the original, which must have still exist bit which he called merely a lump of brass.

Do you have any clue why Jesus called Nicodemus's attention to that event from so long ago, an event which was without ANY explanation in all of the Jewish scriptures or oral traditions until Jesus explained it to Nicodemus? Do you realize what was the blasphemy the people were committing making little brass snakes and offering prayers to it and sacrifices to it?

It's not the *same* sacrifice in many ways.

Jesus gave His own life on the cross.

He did not come to place Himself as the disposal of a priest who uses Him as a sacrifice for offer to God on our behalf. That system of sacrifices was done away with.

Also, Christ was not offered up on an altar. he died on a cross. So the sacrifice the priest is allegedly participating in is NOT the same as Jesus on a cross.

Christians are not forever participating in killing Jesus and then eating Him.

Christians are participating in His LIFE, not His death.
