Today in America abortion on demand rages on with hundreds of millions of Christian Church-goers surrounding abortion clinics. What do the churches think? I went to First Pres here in San Luis Obispo, CA to ask them if they knew the abortion clinic was just 5 blocks from their church. Surprisingly not onlt did they know, they said they supported Planned Parenthood and Abortion! (Watch "Peace Peace" to see this exchange: http://youtu.be/pxLiAMExLz0?list=UUt5...)
After doing a little research I found out that First Pres SLO is a member of the PCUSA and that they support abortion in almost any case. So I went back to see what members thought about their church supporting abortion....here is the result. www.ChurchRepent.com, www. ASOSLO.com, www.AbolishHumanAbortion.comwww.asoslo.com

What is the difference between a church's "official policy" opposing abortion and a nearly monolithic block of its members supporting abortion? In this regard, many CATHOLIC churches are pro-abortion, although their policy is otherwise, wink-wink.
PCUSA has always been a haven for obnoxious liberals. PCA, unlike PCUSA, contains the true Christians.
“In this regard, many CATHOLIC churches are pro-abortion, although their policy is otherwise, wink-wink.”
No the Catholic church has condemned all forms of abortion. There are however many Catholics who on their own support abortion, such as “Catholic for Choice which the pope condemned as well.
This is way different from the PCUSA, and other churches who’s leaders at the top have said abortion, or abortion is some cases are okay.

How come I just started hearing about them? What else have they been up to?
>>How come I just started hearing about them? What else have they been up to?
Like all Presbyterians, they are fairly low-key so no one noticed them. But their history of extreme liberalism is long enough that the PCA spun off from them over 40 years ago.
WRONG!
The Catholic Church is defined by her teachings;
Tradition (which preceded scripture)
Scripture
and the Magisterium
The weakness of individual human members or their Parishes, DO NOT define the church.
Long ago when I first learned the difference between PCUSA and PCA the second of which then had my wife as a member, I could not help seeing CPUSA when I saw that designation.
Well one thing is for sure, nothing stays hidden for long.

The PCUSA did a good job of it for a long time. They did it by not leading protest marches like UMC clergy. They also don’t have high profile figures like bishops who make the news when they come out or decide to break the rules and marry a couple dudes.
But, the word is out now. People are fleeing and congregations are leaving, but the PCUSA makes it difficult for a Christian congregation to leave.
