Is Great Lent different from regular Lent? Not a snark, just asking.

In the Orthodox tradition we call it Great Lent. There are other differences from the Roman Catholic tradition including the calendar (we still use the Julian calendar for Easter and Lent) and the fasting discipline. The feasts and commemorations are also different.

Some use "Lent" in names for other fasting periods as well, such as "Nativity Lent." (I believe that "Fast," such as "Nativity Fast," is used more often.)
