For those who think we do have free will even when God enables us to choose.
The only FREE moral agent in the universe is God. He's the only one who can act without any outside influence working on Him.
Sure we have will. It just isn't free.
We can't even begin to know God without Him quickening us, without His intervention.
We are spiritually dead so spiritual truths are non-existent to us. We cannot perceive them because we don't have the capability to. The spiritual part of us that was created to perceive spiritual reality died.
No one can perceive what they are unequipped to perceive. Blind can't see light, deaf can't hear sound, spiritually dead cannot perceive spiritual reality.
So we are not free to choose because without help we CAN'T. We are not FREE moral agents acting without outside influence.
You can quote Marx to support your position. I'll quote Scripture.
Scripture does not support that view in any way, shape or form, or else mankind could not choose good or evil and hence no individual could ever be judged by his/her deeds; and again, Jesus' sacrifice would not even have been necessary.
The only FREE moral agent in the universe is God
PS. That is malicious removal of context by quoting Philippians 2:13 alone, especially when 2:12 admonishes the believer to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”, emphasizing the believer’s role in the free moral choice, and 2:14 admonishes to act “without murmurings and disputings”, further illustrating the presence of free moral agency in the human(s) in question since it was still possible to fall into such sinful ways.
Furthermore, to claim that man has no free moral agency gives credence to other godless liberal claims, particularly that homosexuals were “born that way” and unable to change.
Exodus 20:3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
This is choice which one do you choose? Your Calvinism is showing hard tonight.
“The only FREE moral agent in the universe is God. He’s the only one who can act without any outside influence working on Him.”
Food for thought... Can God make a mountain that he cannot move?
