There was a man in the Old Testament whose name was Jonah. God told him to do something, but he run away and thought he could hide from the presence of God. Then God commanded a big fish to swallow him. Miraculously, he survived in the belly of the fish for three days. During these three days he did three things:

The Scripture says “And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land” (Jonah 1:10).

This is our story: Your story and my story. This is the story of our generation too. We believe in God, but run away from his commandments. Continue reading the rest.

Never run from God. Where would you go? Run to God. And He will near you.

One should never simply run away from God.

However, I find that it’s quite effective to throw a rock at His head as you’re running away. Once beaned, God will relent and leave you alone.

He KNEW that he was wrong when he skipped on obeying God’s command to go preach to the Ninevites. He despised them so much that he was refusing to go as commanded, and headed in the opposite direction.

Then came the storm. When the lot fell on him, he owned up to the others of his disobedience. He told them that THEY had to throw him overboard (sin doesn’t leave on it’s own). He probably knew that if he didn’t go overboard, that they would all drown. Instead, he probably thought it would just be him. In minutes (or less) he would be dead. Boy, was he in for a surprise.

It will greatly reduce the negative feedback you are getting if you simply post your whole article. It is considered poor manners to post only part of articles you have written. You can still link to your site if people want to read other stuff.

You can also expect to get debated for your theological views. The way some posters avoid this is by specifying the religious “caucus” the article is affiliated with. This disallows the typical heated debate these types of posts may otherwise bring.

I would encourage you to continue to share your testimonies, but sharing the whole article is a good idea.

Jonah never had a choice. Neither did the whale for that matter.

There’s nothing like catching a big fish to change your outlook on life. Just try not to be the bait.
