A non-catholic friend once referred to them as bleachers. That reminds me of this classic gem:
Church is the opposite of going to the ball game.
At church, it's "Stand up, stand up for Jesus"
At the ball game, it's "Siddown, for Christ's sake!"

In my current parish, they have gone the other way. A meeting room is referred to as Our Lady’s Gathering Space. The recessional hymn is called the Going Forth song. The lobby is called the Commons.
