Please pray for my brother tonight as he checks himself into the hospital for alcohol abuse. He recently lost his job while at the same time celebrating the birth of his third child. He feels lost and inadequate.
I am so sorry your brother is fighting this addiction. I will pray that he finds the strength to defeat it and can return to his family a new man.
I will. My brother dealt with it, too.
Prayers Sent, God Bless and may He Give him Wisdom and Strength!
Your brother has taken a significant step and will find all manner of support. Consider clinical depression as a possibility, too. Most men don’t recognize it, and it might have contributed to his desire to drink. He is in my prayers.
[Alcoholics Anonymous is a good place for him to start when he gets out.]
Celebrate Recovery is a Bible Based Recovery Program that is effective too.
Prayers and for for you and your brother and his family.
Encourage the Good.
Prayers for you all.
Prayers have been sent.
And at first ... suggest many different meetings, many different kinds of meetings, many different people - to find what fits best. Some people at AA, and some AA groups, are ... healthier ... than others. Different kinds of meetings fit different people, some like a variety, others stick to a certain kind.
Open, non-judmental mind is good, as is humility, AND also discrimination is good, and necessary.
I regularly have Sunday breakfast with certain friends at a successful restaurant recently started, run/owned by a friend whose boozing two years ago, right at the time his first daughter was to be born, reached the tipping point like your brother. He too was unemployed at the time, in his case didn't really even have a career or set direction. Lot can happen in a couple years. More importantly ... he's peaceful and happy most of the time. (Many boozehounds fear boredom, fear that there will be no rewards - quite the contrary.)
It's not the only way, but all the guys I know who are like that ... kept coming back ... asked for help when nothing else was working. In time - you realize you've got a group of the best friends - best people - you could ask for, and you actually don't think about the booze much, if at all. Desire/Obsession eventually goes away when you're not looking.
Prayers for your brother’s successful treatment.
Jehovah God sends his Blessings before we ask.
We pray that Jehovah God will strengthen this Man
With strength from above. Tell him that the Apostle Paul
Said he was strong in his weakness because then God can do
His will. We ask it in The Name of Jesus The Christ.
In my prayers
It’s hard to hit bottom and then fully recoer after medical care. Prayers.
oops

Praying for your brother and his family. God will help him turn all this around. God bless you all.
