Rome was in control of Israel at the time of Christ, the last of the four world empires that frayed and finally destroyed Israel and leveled most of Jerusalem, the City of the great King to come, Jesus Christ. He will reign over the then destroyed city of Rome and all nations of the earth will be under His Kingship, He will rule with an iron hand, for He is God who came in the flesh and gave Himself a sin sacrifice for all who believe Him for salvation.
He came into the world, and the world was made by Him, but the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, but His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of GOD the Father, who destroys all His enemies unto the return of Christ to bring in His KIngdom on the earth for 1000 years, as the Scriptures teach those who believe on Christ as Lord. Israel will be the last world Kingdom on the earth and America may have been destroyed or relegated to a lesser kingdom by the pagans who destroy nations under their leader, Satan. Yet God will rule in the person of Jesus Christ in Zion, the land of God,’s choosing. Search the Scriptures, saith the Lord Jesus, for in them you think you have life they testify of me. Sola Scriptura. And think on the policies of this ill begotten pope in Rome, the city on seven hills.
It is my opinion that when one reads the Bible, one must understand that the ‘lessons’ of the Bible are in LAYERS.
For instance, this prophecy. You say it referred to the time of Christ and Rome as the center of civilization.
Yes it did. But it also applies to each of us on a daily basis. On a lifetime basis. AND on the entirety of the civilization of the descendants of ADAM.
It was a warning for those who lived back then, and it’s a warning for us now.
Because MANKIND seems to like to keep making the same mistakes, over and over. And doing it on a larger scale.
There are pictures at the website, but the Word is even more important at this time and forever. We may be nearing the final generation as Israel is back in the land and God is drawing many to fight against her, He himself will destroy their enemies during the 7 year tribulation to bring in the Kingdom of Heaven at His throne, Jerusalem, aka. the city of the great King.

Absolutely correct. That’s why Herod and Pontius Pilate became fast friends.

And evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, until the time of the 7 year tribulation, a time when God will miraculously show His wrath to the nations of the earth who rejected Christ and shed the blood of His saved sinners, the saints of Christ.

At the time of John’s writing, Rome was that 7th empire.
She is, at a minimum, an occult, idolatrous spiritual system.
